Just got my C63 Need Help with Exhaust Mod
Hey Guys
Jumped ship sold my E92 M3 and got a C63....
Im sure this has been talked about over and over and over, I do apologies I tried to read as much as I could before posting this thread...
So I have narrowed it down to Mikes Power Pipe or the Agency Power Valvetronic Exhaust.
Only reason I have not jumped on the Agency Power is because everyone seems to have problems with breaking and quality issues. other then than it seems like the best of both worlds super loud when needed and quiet when you want you want
and what I like about Mikes Power pipe is it just enhances the AMG sound we all love which is why I jumped ship
feedback / suggestions greatly appreciated
PS my Signature is very old

Save yourself a ton of cash and just have an H pipe installed and remove the secondary cats. The stock muffler make as much or more HP than anything you can buy that is aftermarket. Trust me on that one.

Can someone elaborate on what the H pipe install is and what Mikes power pipe is and all this lingo for a newb who's been reading it everywhere but can't get his head around it?
Also, does doing any of these exhaust mods void the warranty?
Thanks

Depends what you are looking for. IMO the H pipe will sound more tuned and less harsh, an X pipe sounds nice too. H pipe will make more a more even power curve as well. If you just want loud and obnoxious then go straight with no resonators but if you want a nice tuned sound with a good curve go H. I have run all three X, H and straight so I have experience with all 3.

I havent tried H pipe, but I installed mike's straight pipe and it's fantastic. I was worried it would be too unrefined or too loud, but it's just more of the meaty AMG sound in the mid and high RPM range (low RPM is slightly deeper, but still tame).
I wouldnt confuse doing a straight power pipe (secondary cat delete only, keep stock reso) with straight piping both the cats and reso (which I hear gets super loud and possibly more unrefined)

The resonator already has an h-pipe inside of it to balance both sides of the exhaust. X-pipes on these cars, kill the AMG bark but will lead to a better scavenging effect than an h-pipe. My best advice is if your merely looking for sound and a slight bump in performance. Remove the secondaries with Mike's power pipe and leave everything else alone. Aftermarket, exhaust on these cars are a waste of money. Stock AMG exhaust is already bench tested for performance and sound. Don't fix something that isn't broken.

It shows both straight and H pipe.. White C63 being straight and the silver being H
From that video I felt like the H was not as smooth sound. which is kinda the opposite of what your saying so im a little confused now.

Get Mike's power pipe that deletes the secondary with straight pipe no h. It will sound fantastic! The stock system is immaculate. It's quiet when it needs to be, and "look at me" when you want it to be. Besides, I've already spoken to weistec. They have pushed 800 hp through the stock exhaust. I think it's safe to say it flows well.

I concur with jcart 100% on this, after years of modding exhausts with many aftermarket set ups I would simply put in Hpipe, not an xpipe, take out secondary cats and resonators, Maybe put in high flow cats and you will be very very happy. If you use long tube headers then you will need different mufflers as IMHO the AMG mufflers combined with headers can be to trumpety and not what you want. Good luck. Maybe consider electronic cutouts, I have used them too and they work brilliantly and are cheap from QTP etc

That was my original goal as well to enhance the AMG bark, after listening to so many combos I think I made the right decision by deleting the secondary cats with straight pipes. Of course now I'm too used to it & I want it slightly louder by straight piping the resonators as well lol

Deleting the sec cats won't hinder your ability to pass emissions. If you delete your primary cats then you won't be smog legal. Now a days, they usually plug in, an obd device and check if all sensors are ready. Sec cats has no sensors. Mb warranty is debatably. They would have to proof, that the cause of the deletion, of the sec cats caused an issue.
