ARH Headers for 63 AMG's
So i was on American Racing Headers website today and noticed they had a few new additions to their product line. One of them being a set of 1-7/8” long tube primaries with 200 cell HF cats and X pipe for $2990. Does anyone have any experience with them? I know they make really good stuff for Vipers, Vette's ...... etc in the domestic business but not to sure about the international breeds. Im sure the quality is going to be top notch but wanted to get you guys opinion. Thanks!!

That is a great price for what you get. But it says E/CLS. I thought Andy @ MHP posted in another thread that he is suing them for copyright infringement?

I called them awhile back like in June 2012. The owner said they have plans to make LTH for the C63 but just haven't got around to it yet.
Which probably means they won't make it.

I had a set on one of my cars back in 2010. They are definitely an amazing manufacturer. In the LS world, they are considered some of the best so I imagine there quality will be equally impressive for our engines.

I like thw quality of ARH. It will be interesting to see what shakes out with MBH sueing them. But i would like to see ARH come out with a set of Headers for the C.

I hope they produce it for the C at that price or lower. I would imagine that the market for the C would be larger than the E/CLS and that may cars are now coming out of warranty.

I tried long ago to get them to produce headers i had an appointment to be the r&d car. When i went to drop off car off i was told they were to busy to design headers

Why on earth do they not produce LT's for the C63? Are there really that many E and CLS's that want LT's?

That was probably a mistake on their part. They likely misjudged the marketplace for our cars. Had they moved sooner, they likely could have sold a lot of sets, based on their stellar reputation alone.

Is the MHP suit holding up production on a C version? Any IP attorneys here that can comment on how different a header design has to be before it's not considered an infringement?
I think this is the perfect setup: has CATs for the enviroment and an X for some noise abatement. Pricing isn't too bad either.

At that time with the pricepoint they were talking about it wouldve been a no brainer.. i saw one of the partners a year or do later after i got the mhp setup at pocono raceway. And he came up to me inquiring about the setup and said they should make them... i explained the situation and told him once again how large the market could be.... still nothing

Here's a response from a lawyer friend of mine that studied IP law in a Master's program after law school (btw, he doesn't practice IP law now, and this isn't a definitive answer, just what he remembers from school):
"I remember from class it's a very high threshold [to get IP protection] because otherwise, it would interfere with the realm of patents. Certain iconic shapes such as coca cola bottle, mickey mouse, etc. are copyrighted -- as is the first public bicycle racks that are outside of parks. But, generally, no, can't get absent unusual circumstances."

CLK63 Black, E350 Wagon, Supercharged Denali, Lotus Elise, Tesla Model 3 Dual-Motor.
I have the ARH LT Headers, they are beautiful and make 60 hp and 65 Tq.
In my view "ARH equals Quality".
