2013 c63 sedan: Can I use OEM wheels with 4 identical size winter tires?
I've decided to get the new Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tires for my winter tires for my 2013 c63 sedan.
When it is snowy or icy, I will drive my 13 yo jetta with blizzaks.
My question is: With the OEM rear wheels at 18 X 9 and the front wheels at 18 X 8, can I use the same size tires --- 225/40R18 -- on all 4 wheels?
Or do I need to use a staggered setup like the OEM tires?
If I can do either a staggered setup or use same size tires on the OEM wheels, which would give me better winter driving performance?
Final question: Are the OEM wheels designed to be okay for wintry conditions or should I get new wheels as well as new tires?
I am planning on buying 19 inch HRE wheels and PSS in April 2013.
Thanks so much for your help.

225/40 will be cutting it close to fit on a 9" wheel... may be better off with like a 245/35 for the rear.
Narrower the better for winter driving.
OEM wheels more than ok for winter conditions.

If you look at the manufacturer's website, they'll list approved rim widths by tire size. And I've found Conti DWSs are the best low-temp tire for high performance vehicles - they don't 'squish' around like most winter tires (had a set of Michelin Alpins that had this issue)

Get a nice set of forged alloys with some proper tires on for the summer and keep your stock wheels with winter tires on them for when it gets nasty.
