I just got back from Vegas!
The trip was great, it was great to see Danny and his gang again!
Mercedes did a wonderful job!
Also I was lucky enough to win this book :

I was blown away at how well the SL63 handled. Car just wants to rotate and turn in. I was under driving the car for a lap before I realized how much more I could push the car. And comfy too!

my wife bananas! :D
didnt go to the amg academy in LV but i was able to drive the SL63 for a little while and I absolutely agree with you. imo it handled even better than the sls ... definitely could feel how good this car was in a slalom and how much speed you can still have coming out of it.

Yes - both my wife and I are going as drivers on the 19th (the last day). She wants an SLK or an SL, so our dealership agreed she'd be a good prospect to also entertain at the track instead of just the spa...

So your drive day is Tuesday the 18th. Will see you that evening at the cocktails & dinner when the two groups meet. If we use the same "portion" of the track as last year, you're going to have a great time. And, bring lip balm to the track. I am guessing it's the dry desert air, wind and sun, but your lips are going to bleed by the end of the day. If you bring a spare stick, by the end of the day you could easily sell it for $500.

That sucks, I just read about this now and my dealer / sales guy (MB Toronto downtown) never even mentioned it to me. I even factory ordered a 507, waited half a year, and picked it up in July.

I don't get it... Why did I not hear about this before ? I bought my car in January, is that something the dealer should have signed me up into ? On what website do you need to subscribe?

Thanks for the information, I'll keep that in mind!
I think the invite list is up to the dealerships, they are probably all allotted so many invites so it's up to them I guess.

^ This. Every dealership gets a number of allotted seats (and the AMG Performance Ceters get priority). It is up to the dealership and your sales rep. Mine knows I am a track junkie, have spent $$ on the AMG Driving Academy programs and am likely to purchase another AMG as a result (not for the badge but rather for driving them like they they were designed to be driven), so that may have influenced their decision. Speak to your sales rep and let him/her know you'd be interested in attending next year's event.
As for driving these cars on the track and learning what they're really capable of, sign up for an AMG DA event. It is so far superior to anything any car club has ever put together that there simply is no comparison. The level of instruction, the data acquisition and telemetry analysis and the sheer seat time that you only get in Canada and nowhere else in the world (no car sharing - one student per car, with no more than twelve students total), on an amazing track like Mosport or Tremblant, is an ephipany for any real driving enthusiast.

Business casual (I can forward you the email from Eva if you don't have it). If instead of dress pants you opted for clean jeans with a dress shirt, blazer and nice shoes it would certainly pass too. I wouldn't go with jeans, running shoes and a golf/polo shirt if that's what you mean by collar shirt. Khakis/slacks and a dress shirt are the norm.

Anytime. Will see you at the cocktails & dinner on the 18th. Name is Doug and as I mentioned I'll be there with my wife so I'll be easy to spot, or you can always ask Danny or Melanie (they know me pretty well by now). Loook forward to meeting you there.
And - please leave *some* tires and brakes for us in the last group... pretty please?
