The Best of Mercedes & AMG
So your drive day is Tuesday the 18th. Will see you that evening at the cocktails & dinner when the two groups meet. If we use the same "portion" of the track as last year, you're going to have a great time. And, bring lip balm to the track. I am guessing it's the dry desert air, wind and sun, but your lips are going to bleed by the end of the day. If you bring a spare stick, by the end of the day you could easily sell it for $500.
^ This. Every dealership gets a number of allotted seats (and the AMG Performance Ceters get priority). It is up to the dealership and your sales rep. Mine knows I am a track junkie, have spent $$ on the AMG Driving Academy programs and am likely to purchase another AMG as a result (not for the badge but rather for driving them like they they were designed to be driven), so that may have influenced their decision. Speak to your sales rep and let him/her know you'd be interested in attending next year's event.
As for driving these cars on the track and learning what they're really capable of, sign up for an AMG DA event. It is so far superior to anything any car club has ever put together that there simply is no comparison. The level of instruction, the data acquisition and telemetry analysis and the sheer seat time that you only get in Canada and nowhere else in the world (no car sharing - one student per car, with no more than twelve students total), on an amazing track like Mosport or Tremblant, is an ephipany for any real driving enthusiast.
Business casual (I can forward you the email from Eva if you don't have it). If instead of dress pants you opted for clean jeans with a dress shirt, blazer and nice shoes it would certainly pass too. I wouldn't go with jeans, running shoes and a golf/polo shirt if that's what you mean by collar shirt. Khakis/slacks and a dress shirt are the norm.
And - please leave *some* tires and brakes for us in the last group... pretty please?
ps. I wore Dark Jeans, Dress Shirt, Sports Jacket and was perfectly dressed. Most people in just a dress shirt or jacket.
