My new big C63BS project
#80
If I wanted the most powerful I would have slapped a V12 in my C63BS jrcart has high experience in the M156 and he knows what he is talking about and I salute him for what he is going to make out of his car, I always imagined the C63BS with the M157 it's a different game more torque so lets see how it will work out and what kind of numbers does it put down.

I really hate to say this and I am surprised that nobody has said anything yet, but Dbason you just made a very idiotic move that you will regret.
You shouldnt have taken out your M156 BS engine. Your much better off supercharging it instead of replacing it with an M157.
Even though on the dyno the numbers on the M157 are at more peak than the M156, the M156 is a high reviving engine. The airflow on the engine is unmatched to any AMG engine. The M157 revs sooner than the M156 by about 1200rpm. When the M157 loses potential the supercharged M156 would still be pulling hard.
Bad move, I have to say. You will never keep up with a Weistec supercharged BS. Period!
The BS engine you just removed has a much better valve train, better pistons, better camshafts, and a much lighter crank than the M157 you switched to. Boosting it would be your best option. Don't worry, you'll find out for yourself.

Thanks everyone for the positive replies
If there was space for turbo charging the M156 I would have bought the SLSBS engine and made a swap! I am not a natural aspirated engine fan or a supercharged engine fan, this is a matter of choice, I wanted to make something different and this is how I visualized the BS from the first day it was debuted, I have my CLS63 which is running rock hard and have been the best AMG car I have owned period, and so I wanted to have best of what I think will be a good combination, I know Weistec supercharged cars are super fast quick and all, plus one important info you should know, the M157 proved itself in a shorter period of time since it hit the market, where as the M156 had difficulties "supercharged" to scratch the low 11's even though they have less weight, wait and see what kind of power potential those M157 can have.
Anyways your opinion counts and appreciated and when my project is done you will change your opinion I promise

Why would you buy the SLS BS if you could have added some turbos? I think any M156 would be a good starting point, just build the motor, maybe destroke it with some sleeves, and still more than enough displacement, and enough rpms.
Still, admire what you're doing.. I hope it works out!

wonder how it would do with m157 with the new weistec turbo set up

Really? There's a thread here where a CLK BS ran a 10.01, seems good to me.

This is one of the reasons i want a turbo engine just look at the new thread i posted in the CLS section and thats the kind of power that will be in my C63BS, i have not seen an M156 engine having that kind rpm reaction
