Burnout - C6.3 - Potentially Stupid Q.?
I was not too big in the "burnout thing", however with the 63 you cannot help it. What is the proper way to do it?
Does turning the traction control off disable the rear breaks so you don't burn the pads and wear the rotors? (as we all know they are not cheap)
Any answers are much appreciated.

On paper.
1. Order new rear tires.
2. ESP off.
3. Push brake down as hard as possible.
4. Put in drive and floor it simultaneously.
5. Cough after inhaling tire smoke.

Depends on the setup, but with ESP off, you should be able to do it without holding the brake, but as someone else pointed out in another thread, hold the brake down about 40% while you give it the beans, then let off gradually to do a standing burnout.

Funny part is that most times i do it without meaning to do so...haha...But i want to learn how to do a stand still burn out without craping on a $550 rotor.

Oh wow don't push the brake as hard as you can, just enough to keep the car from moving initially to start the spin, then let off teh brake just enough to hold the car in place. Otherwise you're killing the rear pads and the transmission.

No, ESP OFF does not disable the rear brakes. It just prevents the car from cutting power on you. The reason you can do a burnout with the brakes on is because the brakes are far weaker than the torque of the engine. You do wear the pads this way, so try to use as little braking as possible.

LIke someone stated as above
On paper.
1. Order new rear tires.
2. ESP off.
3. Put in drive and M mode.
4. Floor it - full throttle
5. Profit.
Otherwise you'll end up ordering brakes as well.

LOL tell me you guys aren't holding the brakes 100% while you're doing a burnout.... I bet half the smoke is coming from your pads and transmission
Get a line lock and do it proper.

LOL. Friend of mine tried to do a burnout once, and later told me his car must not be powerful enough, it just dies every time he floors the gas and the brake.
