Mercedes C 63 AMG “Edition 507″ featuring technology transfer from the SLS AMG
The C 63 AMG models are set to become an even more dynamic proposition: in exclusive “Edition 507″ guise, the Saloon, Estate and Coupé are equipped with an uprated AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine. The 37 kW (50 hp) boost to 373 kW (507 hp) combined with maximum torque of 610 Nm derives from the transfer of technology from the SLS AMG, with the forged pistons, connecting rods and lightweight crankshaft adopted from the super sports car’s eight-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. An AMG high-performance composite brake system with red callipers comes as standard. The C 63 AMG “Edition 507″ is designed to appeal to keen sports drivers who will appreciate the high-calibre technology and a wealth of exclusive design details and appointments.
The C 63 AMG “Edition 507″ produces 373 kW (507 hp), and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds in Saloon or Coupé version and in 4.3 seconds in the Estate. It therefore betters the 336 kW (457 hp) base model by two tenths of a second. The top speed of all body styles is 280 km/h (electronically limited) as the “Edition 507″ models are fitted with the AMG Driver’s package as standard. In addition to the higher top speed limit, the package also includes a voucher for a driver training course at the AMG Driving Academy. The market launch for the C 63 AMG “Edition 507″ gets underway in June 2013.
An overview of prices in Germany (incl. 19% VAT):
C 63 AMG “Edition 507″ Saloon: €83,835.50
C 63 AMG “Edition 507″ Coupé: €85,085.00
C 63 AMG “Edition 507″ Estate: €86,394.00

2013 C63 AMG, 2013 B250
So how much of a premium is that over the normal C63 (coupe/sedan) in Germany? Just wondering what the pricing will look like in Canada/US.

I wouldn't say that. It has carbon ceramic brakes as well as SLS internals which should have more potential for power. I would also imagine that they probably (hopefully?) upgraded to the BS coolers so you can take the car to the track without worrying about limp mode. It would be stupid to put the ceramic brakes on and NOT have better cooling. Now would I pay the premium for a 507? Probably not. I would prefer to make my own, unique C63 rather than a cookie cutter factory job. Still a sweet car though.

Copied from the other 507 information thread:
Minus the 19% VAT and then factoring in the Euro Car Value to US Car Value Ratio, I believe that puts the C63 Edition 507 at approximately the following US prices (however this is somewhat based upon conjecture and these values are likely incorrect):
Saloon: $70,690
Coupe: $71,740
Saloon: $70,690
Coupe: $71,740

I reckon the "507" is gonna be a great car.
But, I can't believe that L.S.D. is still an option?....It should be part of the "package".
Cheers, Pickles.

When I saw the 507 at the NYAS, i didn't spend more than a minute looking at it, not because it's a bad vehicle, it's just because there's nothing totally fresh about the vehicle.
Here's the mental exercise, "oh cool look another c63, is that an Edition1, p31 w/matte paint, Affalterbach edition, CBS w/o aero, hmmm, Oh yeah that must be that 507 unicorn, hahaha."
Obviously, I'm poking fun, but how many iterations of the c63 do we really need in the last couple of years? Is the 507 a great car, of course it is, all C63s are awesome. My point is, the 507 is nothing too fresh or new, just a mix of parts from the spare parts bin, sans the wheels.
Just my .02, pricing will dictate how awesome or not this car will be!

C63 Coupe Edition 1
I asked this question on the MB Advisors site about the LSD not being in the performance package and they got an AMG product person to comment on why it is not standard. They said it was a factor of increasing the base cost, the different service intervals, and customer perception that the low speed locking 'clunk' is a bad thing that influenced the decision to keep it as an option.

We optioned it on our car, but I know that we are in the minority. I was talking to the AMG man at our Dealership a few months ago, & asked him how many C63 buyers specified the L.S.D., and he said around 5-10%.
Cheers, Pickles.
