Purchasing new C63, bad idea?
hi, I've been a member for awhile but I believe this is my first post. Currently I own a 2013 Audi S4 which certainly is a very capable car and adequately fast for most occasions, but the temptation to own what will probably last NA V8 AMG is too big to resist. Of course, I'll talk to my dealer and work the numbers but it certainly won't be a wise financial decision. My question is, is buying a NEW C63 for 70K+ at this point a bad idea? I live in northern NJ btw and I see quite a few used ones on auto trader for lot less. thanks in advance for your inputs.

2011-13/14 models are pretty much the same, so buying it slightly used (if you don't mind buying a used car) isn't a bad idea. But, if you want to buy it new, go for it, a bunch of people here have!
I feel like you can get it 70 or under though, since they are getting redone and the 507s are here.

Yes, Prestige in Parasmus. Do they run good business there? They seem to have the most C63s in stock. I just moved to NJ not too long ago, so not familiar with the area yet.
If I can get a new one below $70K, I would for sure go with the new one. Little hesitant with the new model just around the corner...but I have a feeling I will regret if I pass on this one.
thanks for the input guys.

Do it, your thinking is 110% on the right track, and that is what your instinct is telling you to do, you will not regret it...not even at the pumps!

W204 C63 Coupe, W166 ML350 BlueTEC, 928GT, C5 Z06 & IS300 race cars, EQE 4Matic+ on order
Have both cars in the family. The 2012+ C63 is IMHO way nicer overall and easily better than the 2013 S4 in all respects except for traction in snow (and even that is arguable - the S4 is better at getting going on slippery surfaces, but cornering and braking is all in the tires and the C63 certainly isn't any worse than the Audi).
I am partial to naturally aspirated V8 engines with their low-end torque (before the C63 my daily driver was a 25quattro B7 S4, which I liked better than the current S4), and I bought a new 2013 C63 in January exactly because it is the last of its kind. Loaded it was $90K+, but IMHO worth every penny.
If you are looking at a car strictly as a means of transportation and/or only from a financial perspective, a Toyota Corolla is probably the most logical choice. If you have some kind of emotional connection to it, it becomes much more difficult to put a price on it - so how does one determine what is reasonable in terms of cost? Sure, you don't want to spend $90K on the *SAME* car that you can get for $70K, but at the end of the day, are you going to pass up on living your dreams for a few bucks? If you can afford it, would it really make a difference if you could get the car for $68K instead of, say, $73K? If it does, you probably SHOULDN'T buy it. Cars are always a losing proposition financially, so if a relatively small difference in the price is an issue (we're maybe talking about a 15% difference here at the most for the "end of life" depreciation), you're really not in love with the car.
Get a new C63 (for whatever it costs to own one) and enjoy every minute of it.

Just bought mine from manhattan last week, they have some pretty good discounts going on this month. I believe they have a silver one in their lot with a decent price. Got 6.5k off mine

As everyone else has said, snag one, you wont be able to wipe the smile off your face, and you'll get to enjoy the monster 6.2 NA engine before it's gone

507 SEDAN
You should definitely do it. As I was shopping for my 507, I saw some C63's go for almost $10k off depending on what year and options. I was desperate for a vehicle and couldn't think that I could wait the 2-3 months for the 507.
I was on the lot and almost bought a 2012 C63, brand new, for $57K. The sticker on it was at $68. That is a pretty deep discount. I drove the S4.................
You WANT a C63!!! Shop well and there are discounts to be had.

2015 E63S AMG & 2013 GLK350
If I was looking to get one under 70k it's likely missing some of the important (to me) options like leather, lighting package, development package, and limited slip in which case I'd try to find a 2012+ that has those options and go that route. As for Paramus, I know quite a few people who have been happy with them but I've never had a good experience with any of their dealerships. Mercedes of Massapequa has been great to me with my last few purchases and with several friends so while out of your way I have to reccomend them
Other than that I'd lease so you can own one and then move a year or so after the new one comes out.

2013 C63 Coupe
thought about the same thing too whether to wait or get the current C63. I was waiting for the new M3/M4 to be released and thus it's looks are not to my likings, hence why I ended up getting the C63. I bought mine brand new and I got a fantastic deal $8k off MSRP.
I decided on the prepaid maintenance assuming it was the same as BMWs where they cover wear and tear, and now im reading its only covering fluids............ ????

thanks for the inputs guys, you guys are not making this easy for me
I'm looking for the right deal, right car at this point. Other than black exterior, I 'm not picky with the options, in fact, I'd be just fine with basic options. I'm paying for the engine basically.
I'm not in a hurry as I have S4 and can wait till the right deal comes up, but would like to get it before it gets too cold. thanks again guys.

You asked I will give you my opinion. There are no deals on new c63s
The current c63 is over and done. The depreciation will kill u no matter what you purchase at and is no deal.
Either buy a 2 or 3 year old perfect c63 at 30% less or embrace what's coming with a new era of turbos that will completely change mercs for the next 10 years or so.
