Whether your buying for your P31 or a Pinto, the best are always the best...
BBS
HRE
Volk
Now if your asking about vendors, I suggest using Supreme Power Parts, incredible business all around!

I have vorsteiner's and they are amazing, extremely light...a bit pricey though, not sure why no one ever recommends them they have held up amazing, customer service was amazing, unlike some other companies around here

I have always been a proponent of ADV wheels, never really heard any bad stories about them til I came to the Merc forums.
Is it that they have poor c.s. or a poor product (or both) form those who know?

BBS, HRE, Volk/Rays as people have said. For the track, I'd love to have a few sets of Volk TE37s. It all depends on your budget. HRE can make some pretty exotic wheels for you if you want or sell you some flow formed wheels if you have more of a budget.

Man that is a good one. Hell yeah they are good, don't hear about them too much anymore. Another good one is CCW, but again, don't hear too much about them.
SSR Professor, prob one of my all time fav wheels!

Vorsteiner outsources their wheel production - all of their wheels are made by DPE. While the wheels themselves are of a relatively high quality, they only have a limited selection of styles, sizes and finishes so in that sense they're not a custom, built-to-order company which is why you don't hear much about them. Nothing wrong with the wheels, but the lack of customization options are what is really limiting their market penetration with the modder crowd, just like BBS or Rays.

With some of the newer companies, there will always been good and bad experiences. I had a great experience when purchasing and building my Rotiforms. But like others have said, there are a few that have been around for a while and have a great reputation throughout the automotive community such as HRE, BBS, Rays (Volk), SSR and Work.

When I buy something, I like to do business with companies that have been around for a long time. I agree that the community needs to come together and help these smaller companies grow, and I do, but not with big ticket items, at least not until I see some growth.
There are some larger vendors out there with proven track records, not hard to find them. I suggest doing business with them when buying items of significant value.
