C63 Grill Removal and Updated Pictures of Single Fin
Here is a brief overview of the C63 grill removal. Only items you will need are a pair of pliers and a thin object, I used a spatula to prevent scratching.
1. Pop the hood
2. Find the two pins that hold the bracket of the grill to the car it self.
3. Pull up on the very center of the pin with the pliers, pull until the entire center of the pin is out and then use a spatula to lift the threaded part out.
4. Identify the hinges on either side where the grill sits into the bumper. These are nice to see because as you start to work it loose, these are like your pivot points. You can see it in this picture where the grill goes towards the side and then has a small piece of pliable plastic over top of it.
5. Press the grill (on the bottom chrome part) inwards starting at base of the grill just out side of center. I pushed in both spots at the same time and with equal pressure to prevent any torquing of the plastic.
6. After you have freed the grill from all the attachment points on the bottom, go back to your hinges and lift up and in to free it away.
7. When installing the new grill, I placed it inside the hinges on the side and then pull the bottom of the grill towards me until all the tabs snapped back in.
8. Put your pins back in.

Great DIY on the grill removal... my grill was on solid though, pushing at the bottom is not as easy... my bodyshop had to use his knee to push it out. LOL
The fitment looks perfect, paint it black & it will look sexy!!

Thanks so much. Just ordered one. fitment appears very slightly off on the driver's side but might be the angle. I'm going to plastidip the chrome around the top and bottom of the grill, leaving the fin and the emblem chrome. woot!

Not the gap between the top and bottom. I'm talking about the very slight gap on the upper right when you're looking at the grill. It appears a little less flush compared to the left.

while looking at my own pictures, I do have a question if someone could enlighten me. The honeycomb on the passenger's side is cut out while on the driver's side it is solid (near the foglights). Is there a reason for this and in terms of air flow is there any benefit to having the driver's side open as on the other side.

single fin grill
Just installed and painted mine from E55tech. Fitment is good and easy to install. I have it temporarily plasti dipped to matte black. Will see how I like it for now or may have it painted gloss black later on.... what do you fellas think?

Looks great. Gloss black might tie in better with your colour though?
