57k for my car
What do y'all think about this offer. I'm considering a F430. The seller of the Ferrari offered me 57k for my 2013 C63 with 10,500 miles. Car is very clean. I also purchased 5 years of prepaid maintenance and 3 year extended warranty when I purchased the car. Am I getting enough for my car? He says the black book at the highest level is 62,575. Thanks for the advice.

Agreed that if I over pay for the 430, then he can offer me stupid numbers on the C63. But for my peace of mind, I'm just trying to figure out what a good number for a one year old C63 is.

say you get 57k on a trade in
in PA that saves you 6% or 7% in sales tax
that's about 3.5 to 4k: not sure how it works in TX but if similar you would have to private sell for 61k to break even

We all know that you can buy a base C63 or buy one with $15K worth of options installed.
If the OP's car is loaded then I will agree that he should ask for higher.

I know im going to get flak for saying this but a c63 for a f430? I know it's an exotic but it's slower and not really an upgrade other than in looks. Now if its a challenge stradale or special version than i get it. Otherwise i'd think long and hard.

That means nothing. What were the options for the vehicles sold and what options does the OP have in his car?

This is why I needed to trade my old car in and apply its balance to the C63 price. The savings in sales tax alone made it worth me trading it in vs. selling it privately. Definitely something to consider.

Great comments guys. Lunch for anyone who tracks me down in H town. My car is fairly loaded. The F 430 is boring on the inside and that by far is the biggest draw back for me. As for it being slower, I'm not so sure, but I will defer to you experts. It only weighs 3500 pounds and felt pretty damn quick to me. And it is fun revving up to 7k at the drop of the hat and the tubbi exhaust sound is pretty sweet. I think we can all agree that the car is damn sexy. I do agree that you dont jerk off money on a F 430 and worry about 2k, but my math was more like 3-4.

On the money front if he is offering $57 and saying the highest book is $63, it's an open invitation to split the difference at $60k.
Unfortunately, you loose out on the prepaid maintanance/warranty. Which begs my next question - what changed that you are ready to trade after initially expecting to keep you C63 5 years? I'm also guessing the F430 doesn't have a warranty/pre-paid maintainance, and are you comfortable with that?
Most important question coupe or convertible?

I have not bought car yet. I'm looking at a coupe-dont like the rag top too much-of course it looks great when its down. When I bought car i was thinking long term. That was my first premium car. Now that I'm revved up, I want all of them Before I bought the C63, I made a down payment on a RS5. But the wait was too long. Then I stumbled into the C63, heard the engine, saw the beautiful cabin, saw the cheaper price tag- and that was that.

All I will say is that consider the long term. A brand new C63 with extended warranty means you have nothing to worry about if something goes wrong with the car for a while. You can beat it on the road and be okay if something fails as you have the warranty. Now, unless you're gonna have a brand new Ferrari with similar warranty plan then of course by all means go for it. But if you're going to be downgrading to an older version which is more likely to break down on you in the future as super cars inherently do and you have no warranty then that's something you need to consider.
It won't be cheap to fix that car and you've got to ask yourself, if you're really worried about 3-4K on the value of your C63, would you be okay with forking out that much (if not more) on repairs for the Ferrari that will happen quite often I am sure. Something to consider I guess, cause purchasing the car is half the battle. Keeping them running is a different story. Just my 2 cents.
