Why do some C63AMG owners try messing with a C6 Z06???

that is not true
if the cars are driven acording to traffic laws they will end up at the same point at the same time
it sounds like you are trying to justify buying a vette
if so, you know they are lessor vehicles even though they may be 'faster'
faster is not the absolute qualifyer for a road car

Who obeys traffic laws?
A little from Sammy Hagar, but in the future - I can't drive 75....

what's wrong with a Prius?
annual fuel consumption based on $4/gal and 15,000 miles/year
C63 $4000
Prius $1200
5 years savings $14,000
pre-tax 20,000
you guys in Canada pay more for gas, correct?
and more in taxes too?
considering the avg OBC MPH for both is the same 40 MPH, what is the difference? oh, yea $20,000

OP is a troll. Continued and relentless pressing of the topic..
Sad because most of the vette guys I know are good guys. I really dig their community and cars. No hard feelings.

Personally I love racing Z06's with my AMG. The corvette is without a doubt the fastest car GM produces, the C63 is not even close to the fastest AMG. A better comparison would be a Z06 against a SL65 black. Oh wait, the the GM lover will say they are not in the same price range.....
Don't get me wrong, my CL65 is my first foreign toy I have always had American muscle and I like corvettes, just don't want another 2 seat harsh riding car again.
No matter what you drive there will always be someone faster out there. Most of the time when I catch a Z06 at the track that someone is me, and I have video & time slips to show it.

The Vette weighs 3162 lbs and that's why they are so quick. With a 200 pound driver the Vette would be 3362 lbs and the C63 4200 lbs making the Vette 20% lighter.

My whole point was: I simply decided to share what I saw - two vehihcles going at it as my wife and I were driving home (a C63 and a C6 Z06).
Both are fast cars but one is not in the same category, league or whatever applies as the other. And because of what I witnessed this, I decided to share and to remind the community that perhaps it is best if we do not mess with faster cars...not allowing our AMG racing egos to get the best of us. And not to street race. Sure, we all brake the speed limit, but street racing is not cool!
Now this: I'm a troll, I'm a Corvette fan-boy, I'm a moron, I'm telling a story - this never happened and blah blah blah. WOW
Oh well...I guess I should have known this would happen. After all, I am in a MB forum talking about a benz getting smoked by another brand. Metal note - only share MB wins; only wins...and NO sarcams

Actually, some of the '06's and '07's were in the 3,070 range depending on options such as 1LZ or 2LZ and 3LZ in the later years.

I recently sold my Z06 for my C63. While the Z06 is an entirely different type of car (3000 pounds, so much power and so little weight that I couldn't keep it straight) it's not so far out of the C63 category that you should be embarrassed to race one.
There are C63's with nothing but headers and tune running high 10's. While the stock Z06 record is, I believe, 10.73, that's not the case for 95% of them. They are very difficult to drive to perfection and I'd guess the majority of stock Z06's are running in the 11.5 range. Why shouldn't an 11 second C63 race an 11 second Z06?

Take your headers and tune example and apply it to the vette - game over.
You are right, many vette owners don't drive them as they should or drag race them for that matter. The Z06 is actually a road race car anyway.
On the flip side, how many C63's you see out there running high 10's tune/headers only? Most of them are in the mid 12sec range stock or low 12's tuned with stock rubber...the Z06 will be in that same E.T. range (low 12's) if the dork behind the wheel is a non driving ****.
Stock vs. Stock, we all know what Z06's and C63's are capable of. I believe if we were to put a professional driver in each car, the Z will come out on top in just about every performance category.
This is my opinion and I know some will shoot daggers and/or name call me, but oh well, good thing I have my flame suit on

Well.. that depends.. can we include placing 3 of those passengers on roof racks. Are we permitted aero boxes, or just strap them to the racks and aerodynamics be damned.. sometimes.. I want to strap my wife to the roof of my car so I do not have to listen to her heh. Also, they are nudists, so no luggage :P

If considering 1/4 track times, most Z06's will run mid 11's if decently driven. While others will run looooow 12's at 123 plus with noobies behind he wheel.
Take your headers and tune example and apply it to the vette - game over.

but it is fact: a car with the same power that is 800 lbs lighter will be faster...what part of that can't you comprehend
no PhD in physics or engineering required
they are right: you are a troll

Mmm I've got such a soft spot for a nice widebody z06.
Street racing is dumb... yea... I'm sure nobody here has done it before because we're responsible!
I wouldn't pull to 150 against a vette but I'd give it a bit of a go just to see how the C63 stacks up. I got froggy with an f10 m5 not long ago and was very pleasantly surprised with how my stock c did.
