Radar choice: V1 or anything else?

Marlin, trying to get us back to the question: So, which Radar Detector works best with the best officers in the country (NJ Cops)?

I have the 9500ix in my vette, has been great so far and as mentioned before, the GPS and learning of false alarms is great. Plus the access to escort live, great combo.

V1 used to be the best but the escort redline is KING. Do some reading on radar forums it's the undisputed best detector ... Once Seg'd.
Which means when you get the detector you have to set it up turn all KA bands off except 2,5 and 8(only KA bands used in America), KA super wide off, POP off, SWS off, TSR off, and RDR off. Keep it in highway mode and it'll sniff porkers out better then any detector ever.
I combine this with quad blinder hp-905 jammers, laser veil on my headlights/tail lights/license plate, matte paint, and waze :-)

Like I mentioned in my post above if you want the best setup it's what I wrote above. If just want great out of the box performance with no setup and low falsed the new escort max2 is a great choice.

Now we are talking a comprehensive, thought through approach - well done Ezec63!
I am running quad Blinder 905s too and they have saved me 3 times in the last 4 months, I believe ( = was hit by Laser, more than 10 over and was not pulled over).
How is this setup working for you? Any tickets?

My question is, if laser Jammers are banned in your state, then is it safe to still have them? Will the cop know that you have a laser Jammer? And if caught what are the consequenses. Dont want to take this off topic, but would be good to know

Thanks !!! Its been working great the redline is amazing and does most of the work but the jammers tie it in for the sneaky highway porkers.
No tickets yet ! (fingers crossed)

If you get the Blinder jammer system they will install a switch under the dash that will turn the jammers into parking sensors that beep when objects get close :-) they cant prove anything

I also wanted to add, if you do a google search for best radar detectors, the Valentine One is left out of most of the comparisons. I find that to be a telltale sign.
I think it is the best and remains the best and all others run a distant second. As a standalone radar detector that you can pop in your pocket and take inside, it is the best detector out there. It withstands the test of time and does a phenomenal job if you are looking for a quality all in one unit.
Escort, passport, etc keep coming out with one model after another to try and win market share from the tried and true V1. But they can't and nothing is more king than the V1. Owners of other models, feel free to flame, but you know......
You should have bought a V1

Me took. The V1 would give 30+ false alerts on one commute to work, making it completely useless. Great sensitivity, but no traffic sensor suppression or fixed source learning based on location.
Since I have an Escort Max, it is normally quiet in the car, and I have started paying attention again to alerts.

9500ix for me too. After owning a V1 as well, this current one coupled with all the other features already mentioned, is working better for me. With the V1 I started to get complacent with the known false alarms. I do miss the bogey arrows feature from the V1, knowing where the signal was coming from helped.

As far as laser jammers go, the Blinder HP-905 is currently the third best laser jammer on the market. Currently the best performing laser jammer is the AntiLaser Priority. It jams all current LIDAR guns, which no other jammer currently does. The second place laser jammer is the Laser Interceptor. The LI currently doesn't jam the most recent firmware of the DragonEye Speed LIDAR and doesn't jam any version of the DragonEye Compact. In addition to the LIDARS that the LI doesn't jam the Blinder HP-905 does not jam the Stalker X series LIDARS.
On my cars I run both the V1 with YaV1, Escort Redline, Waze and AntiLaser Priority laser jammers.

The V1 and Escort Redline are both great radar detectors. Although the Redline does have greater range than the V1, the V1's arrows and ability to meter and display multiple radar frequencies using the android app YaV1 in my opinion makes them equal. The app YaV1 gives the user the choice to incorporate GPS lockouts for false alerts.

As far as jammers go I agree 100% the anti laser priority to be the best. However I've seen test of the blinder and LI being about dead even and the blinder slightly providing more JTG. Either way I will be swapping
For the ALP

The ALP seems to use the same sensor/jammer heads as the Blinder. Does anybody know whether they are the same and one can leave the sensors where the are and only swap out the head unit?

The Blinder and AntiLaser Heads are different and not compatible to the other system.

Detectors are illegal in Va. I drive a cabriolet so it's open cockpit. What type of install makes the system invisible to someone standing beside the car? Is the system described by Ezec63 dash mounted or full install? Thanks

KeepRtPassLeft,
thanks for your quick response on whether the Blinder sensors and the AL Priority sensors are compatible. May I ask what the source of your information is? Do you believe that to be the case or do you know with certainty?
And, just for transparency (no offense intended!) - are you associated in any way with AL?
Thanks!

I am not associated with AL. I do belong to a radar and laser testing organization called RALETC. We have done beta testing for Laser Interceptor and AntiLaser. We have also provided LIDAR guns to Blinder and Laser Interceptor. If requested we would provide beta testing for any other laser jammer or radar detector company. I have personally met the US distributors for Blinder and AL. We do not get paid for any of the testing we do or have done. Our alliegnce is to the consumer. We feel that more competition between the manufacturers gives the consumer better performing products.

The new Dragon Eye / Ally guns are to date undetectable by the Blinder and unjammable by the LI and therefore of course not jammed by your system..and this gun is becoming very popular.
