2014 C63 AMG 507

So I live in the Washington DC area, and I have been noticing....I see waaaay more BMW M3s than C63 AMGs. I mean at a ratio of 10 to 1!! Anybody else in the world have this awesome problem?? I am soooo glad I got the 507!! I like to have cars that are fairly rare in a certain area.

M3's are cheap now. Unless you're talking about the new one. I feel like the C63 same year same miles is going to cost more.
A lot more m3's around me as well. I've even seen more E63's than C63's and I have only seen 2 other c63's around me. There are 2 m3's in my neighborhood alone.

In my opinion (as a former E92 M3 owner of... A month, until I got bored of it) M3's appeal to people who know nothing about cars.
BMW has worked it's butt off making the ///M line cars a "shining beacon" of performance. While they might be on the track, they are rubbish in the city. The torque figures are laughable, and only achievable at super high RPM's.
AMG has usually been on the side line, attracting those who know what they are talking about, or have a lot of money to throw around and want the "status" of a Benz (let's face it, MB has always been much more of a status car versus the other big German names).
In short, people who want over the top city performance (IE, good luck cutting me off) buy an AMG. Those who want some sort of track demon that some shoddy magazine calls the best, buy an M3. Those who want a car that looks nice and preforms ok buy an S4 (Had one too, they are a laughing stock compared to others in the price range).

Dont get me wrong. I love the C63, but I HATE when i see someone driving the same car as me. It drives me crazy. I prefer to have the more rare or unique car, not the car there are 500 of in my neighborhood.

In Toronto, my experience in order of popularity:
M3 Coupe (tons of them - the default 'I made it/look at me' luxury sports car)
C63 Sedan (uncommon)
M3 Sedan (uncommon - way more coupes)
C63 Coupe (rare)
IS-F (rare - for those that just want to be different)
RS5 (very rare - you'd think they are more common for the weather but no, there are way more S4s as people don't want to pay the RS premium)

Not long ago BMW guys were the most knowledgeable car nuts around
The tradition, history, etc
Just look a BMW car club meet vs ANY other, even Porsche
But that has changed for all marques
People buy now based on status, poser factor, trendy/style, hype and don't know jack shyte about cars...no appreciation any more, just man jewelry
How many know what AMG stands for without looking it up?
What it started as?

Weird perspective. Maybe you bought the wrong car if you wanted rare and unique? If you hate seeing the "same" car you must rage every 5 minutes whenever you commute and see regular c classes. 75% of people can't even tell the difference . I love my c63, very much, but that doesn't change the fact it's a c class and was only a entry level AMG before the cla came out.

Ok so hoping to get the wife on board today. We've settled on 46k for my trade and 68k for the amg. I think that's a pretty decent deal. Not the greatest financial move to make but it's not something I plan to do often. If also plan to keep this car for ye foreseeable future. Thoughts on the deal??

I used to live right outside of DC, kinda miss it... nah no I don't, but was fun while I was there.
Don't remember all the cars down there honestly, but the ***..... omg was there some *** in DC after hours!
I understand The Dragon Fly is no longer an Asian hangout. lol
How about the Capitol City Brewing Company, is it still around?
Also used to hang out periodically at Casey Jones in Waldorf (La Plata Area), anyone familiar?

Way more M3's but every time I'm in Nova - reston, Alexandria, Ashburn, Arlington etc....I see a handful of C63s in a single day (whereas I'm used to seeing maybe one a week normally if that). Demographics of the area and the car are in alignment.
