if you got it from Carid the quality is good, I have it on my 507 (select pieces...if you get the RC (real Carbon)

Get your trim wrapped if you want CF and can just peel it away to go back to stock.

The overlays are no doubt real CF. But they look exactly like what they are. A cheaper stuck on version of the real thing.

I have bought the wrap for so long but haven't wrapped it cause I have no idea how and no clue where to get it from. Would appreciate help from Toxicc and Snowmuch on that.

Remove the trim, then lay the material over it with about 1-2" overcast on all sides. Use a heat source to soften the material, then gently stretch and roll it over the edges. Tuck under a few mm, then cut off access. Do not worry about air pockets, the material is covered in small holes and cannot trap air.

Has anyone ever been able to remove the black plastic stereo cover? I am talking about the one that is smack dab in the middle where all the numbers are on the right, the knob in the middle, and the nav, radio, etc buttons on the left.

It's honestly super easy, you just need a plastic knife, a bone tool and a hairdryer or heat gun (heat guns will melt through quicker). The only tricky part is the door trim, since it's hard to remove, I did mine still on the door.

Maybe I'll give it a try after getting back from Mexico since I have a few days off. How did you tackle the Window trim part then, with it being on it? Any helpful videos I can watch that teach the DIY? Finally, where can I buy the heat gun from?

There is no harm in wrapping the interior trims, you can find very nice materials. Its a great way to protect the original parts from light scratches and every day wear and tear.
You can also overlay your OEM trim with real carbon + clear coat. There are a few online vendors that can assist. But a quality job is a 1K+ investment. Well worth it IMHO.

That sounds easy but you're speaking to a guy who can't even put a screen protector on the iPad without bubbles and what not! Would it still be easy? Lol. That's why I was talking about bringing it to your shop and having everything done together (including the parts) at the same time. The problem arises with me being in Calgary only on some weekends.

No videos I can think of, when I get back from Arizona I can maybe make one though. Can get a heat gun from any hardware store, but use a blowdryer. Heat guns get so hot they melt through the material.

I meant the interior parts of the door that also need to be wrapped. How to do those? And do the other interior pieces just pop out? I ordered panel removal tools from ebay and everything just never got to use them cause got scared. I will also need to buy a blow dryer. Lol

looks like cheap *** stickers. always will. Its like throwing a bumper sticker on your bumper. You just dont do that **** to an amg. Just like when people want wheels so bad they buy cheap low quality wheels with the wrong offsets and it looks worse than stock.

I also wrapped my door trim before buying the real deal.. So basically I've done it all lol
I prefer the real deal. Looks more classy.

Make sure all the grid on the material lines up, or it looks weird when it meets.
Just be gentle when you remove the trim, it's fairly durable.
