New C63 owner, following a trail of breadcrumbs
I've recently purchased a white 2009 C63 AMG and will be taking delivery of the car Thursday morning. The current owner said he's the third owner of the car, and he's not terribly familiar with what modifications have been done to the car. Apparently, it was purchased new by Tony Kanaan, sold to another Indy driver, then sold to the next owner, and now myself.
Out of curiosity, I've been doing some searches online to determine what exactly is/was done to the car, so that I'm familiar with it. I have a lift and do 80% of my own work, so I don't want any unknowns to cause issues while I own the car.
So far, after finding a few threads/posts about the car, I've determined that the car has HRE M47 wheels in matte black. Specs are 20x9 front and 20x10 rear (unknown offset). Tires are Michelin PSS 245/30/20 and 285/25/20. The car has KW coilovers (I'm assuming Variant 3's, but that's unconfirmed). It also has some carbon fiber bits, excluding the cf front lip that TK had on the car originally. The current owner also said TK also had the "Brabus package" installed, which I've researched, but he's not quite sure what performance parts were put on, and if the ECU was flashed or not. Brabus light up door sills and shift knob have been confirmed.
I've contacted Wheels Boutique in Miami and was told to call Monday and ask for the owner, who deals directly with TK and his cars.
I just thought I'd share my experience so far, as I think it's kinda interesting. Pic is attached of the car when TK owned it.
If anyone has any specific info on this car, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Nice. I'm not a fan of that snow plow lip; I had it on my car too and took it off. But that drop is nice!

I also like the other vorsteiner lip, but it's hard to come by now. Pretty cool that you had two active Indycar drivers' butt cheeks on that seat!

I called this morning and spoke to Ben at Wheels Boutique. He confirmed that the car has the KW Variant 3 coilovers and suggested I call Renntech and have them run the VIN to see if the car had any work done by them. Turns out the car also has Renntech shorty headers and a Renntech ECU flash as well!
I've been trying to search and see if these are aftermarket airboxes, but I can't find any online that match these....are they just stock red (possibly painted) boxes?

So from what I'm reading online, a "stage 2 Renntech" package (shorty headers + tune) should dyno around 425-ish and trap 120-ish in the 1/4 mile? (I could care less about the dyno sheet, and more about what the car can actually do.)
Without dumping thousands upon thousands into the car to make it quicker, I'm assuming a couple cheaper mods that I could do would be the Mike's 'power h-pipe' to delete the secondary cats and ROW airboxes?

You could get the h-pipe, you could even go with an mbh x pipe. Its hard to tell by looking at the pics but your airboxes look tall and they might be ROW (rest of world, OEM mercedes part). I would just open up the bolts and lift the lid and see. Its one of the cheaper mods for the car so if someone went as far as a wrench tune and headers i would expect that as already covered!

I may, seeing as I believe he did some changes to the car while owning it.
Anywho, I got the car home today. I've never driven a C63 or even a C-class before the drive home today. I must say....impressive. I did find out that the car does not have the KW Variant 3's on it that TK installed, but the Bilstein PSS10 suspension kit. It rides surprisingly well for having such low profile tires combined with the suspension setup. The first order of business will be Mike's Power H-pipe to delete the secondary cats on the car, the a c/f front lip.
Onto the pics:

My PLX Kiwi 2 showed up in the mail today, which allowed me to verify that the car does still have the Renntech flash. Absolute throttle position shows 87.5% when at WOT.
Also, I had the front fenders rolled Monday to eliminate what little rubbing the car did have.

Not to derail the thread, but how does one paint there airboxes like these?
dealership cracked mine and aren't doing FA about it. Kinda want to paint mine like this. How do you get rid of the dimples? Just go heavy with the undercoat/primer?
