I forgot to say that I've been chasing this problem for a year now and had the intercooler pump changed by MB but occasional misfire still there...I'm looking at a 216 instead but it will break my heart to get rid of my beautiful 215 65.

yes, and that's why the amg guys at the local dealers thought it was rear subframe front mounts. My cars done 44k and I drive it quite respectfully, no tyre burns.

jerkiness and misfire
Purely by chance and some illness I had run my tank low on fuel to virtually dry..I always carry a gallon in the for other folks really but I used it myself and then refilled...that cured the occasional misfire so I guess it was some water in the fuel some time ago which stayed in the tank.
The other problem with the jerkiness disappeared after I found out that I had a blown bulb in the traction control switch and had the ASR switched off.......switched that back on and different story but by that point I'd committed to the 216 which I have to say drives like silk.
