Ran the 1/2 mile yesterday - Clayton, GA - WannaGoFast
I arrived thinking the CL would hit mid 155's. However, after seeing a few GTR's, Corvettes, and CTS-V's running in the 140's, I knew the DA was horrific. I calculated it to be 5,280' when I ran my fastest of two runs.
Anyway, I ran 150 and 149. By the way, there was no power to run the box fans to cool the engine, so the air temps were pretty high. I wasn't about to bother with it though, as I wanted to hang out with family and friends. If I run next year, I'll have a working Killer Chiller so I won't have to bother with ice or fans and still have great air temps.
I ran 149 mph against Craig's Weistec supercharged E55. I was on street tires with MS109 and stock air boxes (no filters). I took the ET win (on street tires), but he trapped 3 MPH more.
Here's my 150 mph run against a supercharged Mustang. On this run I was using Dr Matt's CAI setup without filters.
Here's two more videos of my races a friend (John) took at the event. The first one is me running the Mustang Cobra and the other is of Craig and I launching (more like spinning). On that run I had to stay toward the center of the runway to keep from hitting a bad dip.

Thanks for the great endorsement, but I don't see 160 in this car's future. I'm pretty certain mid 150's will take place next year if I still own it though, but that's if I don't move onto something else.
As for the launch, it wasn't that I was fast against Craig. I think I saw him flexing in his rearview mirror while taking a selfie right as the third yellow lit up, which may have had something to do with the head start. Just kidding big guy.
Regardless, we're all amebas compared to the big boys.
And thanks again for getting Prestige Auto to let my daughter sit in the Hefner Lambo. Below is a happy kid.

Nice runs Anthony. Glad to hear the car worked well with the 109 fuel on your current tune. I'd love to run a 1/2 mile. Our cars are geared so much better for that than the 1/4. Just curious, do you get time slips at this event? If so does it show anything other than final ET/speed?
You might want to look for a small generator to take to events like this for power. I always take my 5th wheel to the track but rarely run it's 5.5 KW generator. I find that my little Honda 1,000 will run two fans, my battery charger, and a stereo system to hear track announcements on only 3/4 of a gallon of gas every 8 hours. SO quiet you can hardly hear it.
Oh, and it's the only Honda you can take to the track without feeling like a looser if you are old enough to shave.....

Nice advice, but I run the 1/2 mile strictly for fun. If I have to put more than an once of effort into running faster on the day of the event, then it's just not worth it for me. I didn't even pull the spare, floor mats, radar detector, nothing.
Craig's E55 was missing some seats too, except for the driver's race seat. I forgot to mention there was a Weistec C63 black series running on Saturday too, and I believe he was in the high 140's to low 150's.
As for the Dr Matt's CAI, there was a 1 mph difference. The difference may have been more or less than that if the DA is taken into consideration, but I only checked the DA for my fastest run.

That may have been a problem on your run as well. Do you have a front mount HE while your KC is not working? If you have nothing to cool IAT's that's a big problem then. Did you call Joe at KC? There was a member in the W211 forum and he had similar problems. turned out his block was clogged with oil.
My KC is still in the box, this damn thing better work. lol I can't see myself running in this FL heat. These V12's are very sensitive when it comes to heat, more than what you would think.

I still have the heat exchanger in place for cooling while I work out the bugs with the KC. My ABC pump failed a few weeks back, and that took precedence over the KC. I've been watching that thread and blowing out the KC is on my trouble shooting list.
Thanks.
Would be great to have you there even if you're just coming to spectate.
Same setup except MS109 and the intake.

Congrats Grip car looks strong
I ran the same event last year just with tune and cooling (rear tank, HE, and the IC pump) and went 153mph but it was way cooler on temp the day I ran

Thanks. It's getting there, but it's not a 10 second car.
By the way, when you say "same event", I think you mean 1/2 mile at a different event (Chicago), right?
Here's your runs from June 2nd in Chicago:
151 Kamil
2003 Mercedes-Benz CL600 V12 (Twin Turbo)
142.46
151.45
149.05
151.27
152.03

I believe its all in the DA and temp that day, because you should have def gone faster in better conditions. I say around 155 since I went 153 in the 600 with almost same mods.

DA is deifnitely a factor but something is holding your car back. Have you logged A/F? Boost? IATs? Who tuned your car? Just trying to help and see what could possibly be holding you back.

I believe I only logged boost, timing, AIT, and mph. I did notice the boost peaked early then dropped off. I was going to compare the logs to some of my older ones, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll post up a screenshot tonight. BIP tuned the car.
