That thing can't be for the rear AC. How come no one else has one then? Idk weird and what's that symbol on the sticker?

No, rear seat side airbags are optional. I think the were standard on most all MBZ models until 2002 or so, then people began to get scared of them with kids in the back seat, so they became optional. And because it's an extra cost item that few people want, it was rare for dealers to order cars with it.

My car has every option except rear air bags. If you look at every W209 for sale on autotrader etc, you'll see that the option is so rare that you wonder if it was really offered. Maybe 1 in 100 have them.

I can't find the part number in EPC, but that's not unusual as often the printed number on a part is not the actual part number since it is printed by the OEM. A web search pulls up a few eBay auctions and that's abut it. I am still a bit perplexed about this. I even checked some old dealer/manufacturer info I have and can't find nay mention of this being an option or a discontinued part.

The one eBay auction I found lists it as: "This is an OEM Mercedes-Benz C320 C-Class W203 Rear Center Console A/C-Heater Blower Motor and Fan Assembly with wired Plugs...."

I had some friends in the car and we turned on the back AC vents and wow. That thing blows hard. Lowest setting on the dial is plenty but you can really crank it up. One of the guests was wearing a skirt and she had to hold it down lol.
Not sure what the application would be to need that much air flow but ya...there ya go.
That being said If I had the choice of getting such an odd add-on, I'd opt for the extra console space.

Well then. This just made it on top of the next mods list
So is this like an optional more heavy duty blower? And does it have it's own controls (like i've seen on e500s/550s and cls500s/550s)? My AC blowing is so weak. Even on the highest setting for the front it's pretty weak. There's no real airflow until like the #6 setting. My indy recharged the AC and all and he said its fine and couldn't find any leaks either

In terms of settings I do not believe there is anything special. It is still the turning knob on the center console but in this case it basically just goes off, mild, and hurricane. The fan adjustments from the front have no effect on the back vents as they are independent because of the motor. Not as much control as the adjustment knob might make it seem like it would.

Outside of my local junkyards, anyone know where I might be able to get that piece. Don't recall seeing it on parts.com...
Is there any danger of leaving it open?

That's the oil dipstick tube - you can see it without removing the engine cover. The transmission fluid dipstick tube sits lower - you'd need to remove the engine cover to see it. There is a cap/plug that should be on it. Part number is A6460100035
