New to me 05 CLK 500, and questions...
Yes, I did search, and didn't really see what I am interested in. So, a few questions. Please take it easy on this No0b.
1. Setting C versus S. In S mode my car goes like a scalded dog, very nice. In C mode, however, it accelerates like an asthmatic Kia, is this normal, or a known issue?
2. I saw that new keys and fobs run about $250. Since I have only one, does this still hold true for my 05?
3. Od issue, same question. What is the most favored way of adding cup holders?
Thanks, and a few gratuitous photos of my coral:

C- comfort mode
S - sport mode
Depends on situation and mood and driving habits. But you SHOULD NOT switch modes while in motion. You can damage transmission.
One cupholder is right on the side of glovebox. Push in little window on the left side of glovebox.
$250 for fob only or complete and programmed unit? Other than that you are free to add fobs. You need to visit dealer for that.
P.S. Nice garage! Very neat!

C mode starts the car off in second gear. The transmission's shift points are lowered to around 5K. C mode is useful starting out in snow or mud.
S mode starts the car in first gear. It will rev to the redline before shifting if you want to.

Yes, about the cup holder, but how about supplemental cup holders? Often my wife and I go together.
Thanks, I will order one from the dealer.
It is decent, but only for my bikes:

S-mode (standard or Sport?) works great, but the C-mode is a dog. Good info on using it for bad weather then, makes sense.

I think you now understand C vs S mode on the transmission.
To get another Smartkey for your car, take your proof of ownership and matching ID to the dealer's PARTS counter. Tell them you want an "additional" key. Don't mention that you are missing one, or they may tell you to pay for a service visit to deactivate it. You may be able to negotiate a discount, but probably not. The key will come pre-programmed and ready to use - no service visit is necessary.
And why are you drinking in the car? Drinking in the car will just distract you and you'll end up spilling your beverage in the nice looking interior. Cars are for driving, not eating and drinking.

I have middle cupholder and I use it only for storage of soft cell phone sleeve, cell phone vent holder. No any kinds of liquids in it. No-no! If there is a need, that one by the glove compartment is a good use and away from electronics. Plus chrome trim tends to peel...

Sure, you could retrofit it. Of course it would be prohibitively expensive to buy new parts. If you get lucky, you could get used parts for under $1000. Looking on eBay, it seems that most of these are being sold in pieces. You have to buy the wood panel and armrest parts separately form the main console.

Another question, what is the strongest interior cleaner that will not damage the leather and plastic?

OK, I put on new tires today, I had to to pass inspection. There were three different brands, and one had a bubble, one was bald, one was OK, and one was new.
This made a huge difference in ride and quiet operation. Truly transforming.
Anyhow, the wheels are a bit rashed, so I need to repaint them. What is the best match for factory, and good quality?

I have switched between C and S plenty of times while moving. How does this damage the transmission? It is electronically preventing the use of 1st gear.

+1 on on Griot's. I love all their products. I keep trying other brands, and I keep coming back to them - cleaners, waxes, wash, etc.
