It depends on which model.

Because screw logic.

However, the AMG GT has AMG on the left(the SLS didn't) so I suspect in the next two years all models will follow suit permanently.

Here's another beauty on the way to work this morning. The guy driving quickly got busy on his cell phone when I pulled up and slowed down to look. What was even better is we were in bumper to bumper traffic so he had no where to go. It's all I could do not to roll down my window and ask him about his special one off "AMG!" At least line the badge up man!

I think you see a lot of clk430 with the AMG badge because they didn't start producing the 55 until 2001 and the 430 came with the same body kit as the 55.

I think the dealers put the AMG badge on these cars. I have seen many non AMG cars at silver star in queens, NY with the AMG badge.

I had a 1999 CLK430 and it did not come from the factory with an AMG badge.
I never said it did. I am simply stating that they look the same and you couldn't get a 55 in 99 and that it has the same look. I think that is why a lot of people badge them a s such. I had a 2000 430 with no badge either.

He commented immedietely after you, I'm assuming he was joking. Bothering to copy very expensive brakes isn't something people tend to do, even if someone copies quad exhaust on a v6 diesel...

Very nice conversion. I would do this to my car but putting the v8-biturbo and the rear badges is a bit much. I'm very happy with my S550 with quads, but I don't feel the need to sell my car as something else. SHAME!

Yeah you're right, ot was a joke, didn't mean to offend anyone, my bad. I just thought the juxtaposition was funny since he had posted previously and thus the pictures were right by one another; everyone knows what a beast of an E55 he has.
