What's the equivalent of Techron for Diesels?
I put Chevron Techron in our gasoline automobiles and motorcycles. What is the equivalent for my GLK250?

I just look for higher cetane wherever I can find it. BP and Shell in the DC area often have 45 or 47 Cetane. Southern States Co-op has 50 in the central virginia area.

Really!
Is there an article of basis of fact for this statement?
I've read that high cetane provides more complete combustion which provides for a cleaner EGR system and less regen cycles preserving the DPF. The primary ingredient, 2-ethylhexylnitrate, reportedly provides cleaner injectors and additional lubrication absent from low sulfur fuels.
Low cetane in the U.S. seems to have caused issues with diesel engines in an of itself
Any additional information is appreciated!

The correct answer to the OPs question is
Lubro Moly "Diesel Purge". There are a couple of ways to apply the product
1. Directly to the fuel line before the injectors or
2. Pour into the fuel tank.
You can research it online

I've been using it since the early nineties in my diesels. The product really works, especially if you can apply it directly to the injectors.
here is the procedure for the older Mercedes diesels, which I am familiar with

Don't know if it is possible to apply directly to common rail diesels. You would need to look into that.

Techron concentrate is available obviously not in a diesel specific formulation from Yamaha under the product name "ring free" or at least it was last I looked. Last visit to Yamaha shop though there still existed new two stroke engines so I'm not sure now, ostensively I assume it was intended as a two stroke motor decarbonizing aid for watercraft. Stuff was powerful though.
I'm not recommending this, nor claiming any benefit, and doing anything with Acetone other than stripping paint is probably stupid but, I do occasionally run very low doses in my fuel, .02-.04% as it is a hell of a good injector cleaner. I have a full injector cleaning/flow testing rig at work but it cannot do CDI type injectors, max pressure is around 90 psi, perfect for port gasoline injectors, electronic, CIS or aviation type Gami but not much use to use compression ignition nuts.

use optilube xpd at every tank up
run liqui moly "Diesel Purge" through it - typically you disable the fuel pump and run the engine off the liquimoly cans. unfortunatly you cant turn off the fuel pump in the newer cars as they have tons of sensors, etc. You need to fill a fuel filter with it when changing same, and dump the rest into the fuel tank afterthat.
i use liqui moly dpf protector every third or forth tank: http://www.enginebuildermag.com/2014...daf9f-83635305
makes it easier for the dpf to regen if your car has one. do not double dose it!

I mix 150mL of Optilube XPD for lubricity with 100mL of Optilube Boost for increased Cetane number per every 70L fill up.
There is no known bad upper limit of cetane number.
Higher cetane number will improve fuel economy and produce less soot by causing a more complete burn.
Over time, running with cetane >50 should clean some deposits off your valves and injectors.
