Yes in my sedan. Stop and go. I felt it more in the base of the seat on the left side. It went away on its own though.

Hi,

sorry to revive an extremely old thread, but I am having this exact issue. Its only something small but GOD is it frustrating when it clicks every time you move, accelerate or break!!

Which parts did you lubricate? Is there anything else to do to stop this?

Thanks

So did you contact the service department to report the issue and ask what, if anything, they might have done that would have caused the problem?

If the car was brought in and there was no problem with the driver's seat beforehand and afterwards it has a problem, then it is up to the service department to fix it.

I did, they said they didn't touch it. Unfortunately the dealership is over 450 miles away from me & to say I've had a terrible sales and after sales experience with them would be an understatement.

I asked if I could take it to my local dealership as its under manufacturers warranty, and they reluctantly said 'yes i suppose so'. However the local dealer has said that sort of work wouldn't be covered under warranty so they will have to bill me, and then it would be up to me to claim that amount back from the dealership that sold it to me.. Good luck me.

Well the seat didn't just magically break itself at a time that just happens to coincide with having your car services at the dealership. Call MBUSA and tell them this story. Then ask MBUSA to contact the second local dealership and tell them to fix the seat under warranty repair. Make sure they understand that the seat was fine before the car was brought in for service and as a matter of maintaining good customer satisfaction and a future potential buyer of another MB vehicle down the road, it is in MB's best interests to make this right.

If that argument gets nowhere with corporate, then ask if MBUSA is willing to cover the cost of the repair to the second dealership.

It sounds like the first dealership doesn't give a damn and never expects you'll be a repeat customer. So they''re doing as little as they can get away with, all while denying any responsibility for the problem.

I got the passenger seat fixed under warranty. They tried shims first and that did not work so they changed the seat frame.

Now the driver seat is doing the same so I will get it fixed under warranty also.

Since both my seats got a play in the frame, I consider this a defect and wounder if a loose frame would have a negative security impact durring an accident.
Just for that I would get them fixed.
