e250 coupe window tinting
Hi guys very new to the mb scene as I just recently purchased a 2014 model e250 coupe. Loving every moment.
I was just wondering if the rear windows are able to be tinted all the way to the edges with no gaps? I saw a e250 coupe that was tinted and noticed a 1cm gap on the top of the rear window. I asked why it was not able to be tinted all the way to the edge like the front windows and he said because it goes down a bit and will rip off the tint.
I was wondering if you guys have any pics of the rear window with tint and window half way down so I can see if it can be tinted properly.
It boggles me as to why they can't tint the back properly as the front windows also wind down a bit when you open the door.
Hope you guys are able to shine some light here.

Once the tint has set up, it shouldn't be an issue. However, newly installed tint may separate when the window drops when the door is opened.
Not sure why the front was at the edges and the back cut short.
I plan on having my coupe tinted next month and I'll bring this up to the tinter.
Thanks for the heads up.

Hey guys,
here are some pics that i took of some tint that was on a e250 where the tinter said it is normal to have tint like
this. Its a bit hard to see but is a poor tint in my opinion.
This is of the rear windows. He said because the windows go up and down when the door opens. Gaps everywhere.

Mine isn't like that. Only similar to the third picture. And from the inside. From the outside, you can't even tell unless you are close up on it.
I have seen tint jobs like that, and although they still do what they should, I do prefer for it to be cut as close to the edges as possible and no rounded corners.

Are you're tint places using a computer to cut the tint or cutting by hand? I had my 2011 E550 Coupe done and it was cut by computer with no gap. I just had my 2012 S550 redone and they used the computer as well with no gaps.

I just had my 2014 e coupe tinted the day after I bought the car. I will snap some pics, my tint place hand cut all the tint and there are nearly no gaps.
I will try to take some pics.

Yeaaah, that's kind of bad. The top shouldn't have that much space. Only the places where the windows meet and move when you close the door, and still, not that much.
