On Cold Start, Car Dies. Air Fuel Ratio?
Hello,
The last few mornings have been 15 degrees F or so. I start my 91 300CE and the car runs for a few seconds, sputters, and immediately dies! I have had to start it about 9-12 times repeatedly in an effort to get it to stay running. Acts like it's out of gas but there is fuel.
Needless to say, after much of this, the starter will be shot.
Talked to a friend. He thinks there is an "Air Fuel Valve" (or similar name) located underneath engine air filter at back of throttle body.
NO CEL so this may be difficult to diagnose. What part should I throw at this thing? Thanks!

Out Of Control!!
Your diagnostic approach will heralded by the parts suppliers---soon a starter and battery plus what ever-----if you want to throw parts at the car--take the money and get the fuel or electrical issue diagnosed by someone who knows the car---this leaves out your girl friend, neighbor or best friend!!
