I noticed a much bigger difference upgrading the front brakes to AMG, but with the rears, it was maybe like another 10% difference. It still stops smooth but much more bite. Pedal feel is still soft but now i barely have to touch it to slow the car...just resting my foot on the pedal will usually do the job.

Had the car detailed this weekend. My buddy did a wash, claybar, polish, and opticoat. Looks and feels amazing!

Not mod related but had a few failures last week. PSE pump is broken and needs to be replaced. Also my aux fans squeaked like a ***** then crapped out on me too. Oh joy. lol. Not sure if i am going to go with OEM fans or throw 2 flex a lites in there

Not really mod related but since september i have been using the car on the daily and now a TON of problems have presented.

1) Reverse lights stopped working
2) wheel bearings (all 4) i think are going out
3) shifter mechanism or bushings going
4) parking lights stuck on
5) aux fans stopped working
6) cluster pixels stopped working

So to start to tackle the problems
1) i just unplugged the reverse lights for now. I think it is probably the reverse selector switch inside the shifter...i will look into it in a few weeks but i have more pressing issues
2) The bearing noise is pretty bad. 15mph is the worst and above 60mph is pretty bad too. Im sure being slammed for over 10 years isnt good for bearings. Ordered new front hubs and rear bearing kit so i will post pics of those being replaced next week.

4) Thought it was the PSE pump, replaced it...and the lights were still on. So i ended up replacing the light switch. Heres a pic of the dash apart.

Pretty simple job and im glad total to fix my problem was less than 200 bucks.

5) Got some depo aux fans from amazon. They got slightly damaged in shipping but with a little of bending of the bracket and housing they dropped right in and now my car isnt overheating in traffic.

6) Bought the cluster ribbon repair kit off ebay (the tape one). At first it didnt work, but then i took the cluster apart again and scraped the ribbon down with a flathead screwdriver and now all the pixels work $25 fix.

On to tackle the bearings. Front hub replacements came in so i got right to it. The spindles were nice and smooth but had a little bit of scoring on one side. Gonna drive it for a few days then double check the bearing play.

Still waiting on the rears from the dealer, which are on back order. I figure if im going to take all the time to swap out the rear bearings, i might as well get genuine MB...i hope they will last longer than the aftermarket ones.

As far as i can recall, they are et 35 front and back...but im not 100% sure on this. I did fine tuning on mine. Had them installed with no spacers then spaced them out accordingly and tuned with tire stretch and camber arms.

18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear on mine. ET35 with 30mm spacers on front and 15mm spacers on rear. Will make my front offset +5 and rear is +20

tire size is 225 40 front and 245 40 rear.

So to answer your question, the rear should line up nice and the front should be a little sunk, assuming you run a stretched tire.

Thanks for the reply man... One last question though, what tire sizes should I run if I do go with this setup?

Just curious how long you had this before you had to replace the bearings. (Time/miles)

Ive had the car since 2005. Been slammed since 06 with about 9 months in the middle of that being at stock height.

So roughly 10 years driving slammed and about 60k miles. Turns out the front bearings were ok, it was the rears that were making the noise. I changed the front ones out anyways, since i was already there and had the new units. Upon inspection of the rear bearings, the noise was being made by some rust in there...not sure how the rust got in there but the bearings were functioning just fine according to my mechanic.

WOW!! Only 60k in 10 years??Were the spacers on there the whole time? I put my wheels and spacers on (10mm f & 20mm r) on after I lowered it and got the fitment, but literally (and this could have been coincidental) within 500 miles got the rear bearing howl on both sides. It wasn't extreme either

Haha yeah i didnt drive it much back then. No, the spacers were on it for only the last year. The bearing noise started a year or two ago but i just ignored it...it got worse and worse though. The total mileage was 174k before bearing replacement. 20 years and 174k...im pretty happy with the life of them.

Nothing really new on the car except an issue i had where a long sleeve shirt got wrapped around my driveshaft, shredding my rear differential seal. Seal replaced, car still running strong. Just hit 180k miles. I finally found a reliable interior guy, so ill post some of his leather wrapping work on my car in the next few months. I contacted brabus to see if they would wrap my parts and their lack of response is not what i was hoping for.

Looking good!

As for Brabus, they must not remember how much effort you have put into this car... Customer service is dead

Update on the car. One thing that always bothered me was my headlamps. I did a oem xenon upgrade a few years ago with two units that i got seperately on Ebay. Passenger side is from a 98 and drivers side is from a 96. For the life of me i have never been able to find a driver side xenon lamp that is as clear as my passenger side. It bothered me so bad that no matter how much i polished it or tried to restore it, it looked more yellow than the other side.

So i ended up purchasing a new set of OEM xenon headlamps from Hella. I figure its a good investment and will give me years of clear headlamps.

Crystal Clear!!!

Nice and clear, and even. I have other parts I need to paint and install...coming soon...stay tuned. Thanks for looking.

New parts update. Installed the facelifted mirrors today. I bought some silver ones from a board member and sprayed them myself. The paint match is pretty spot on so I'm happy with the way they turned out. Wired the signal to my front blinker.

Old school! Glad to see you're still around and doing your thing!! Nice work since back then. I got rid of my 210 but am picking one up again in the near future it's reassuring to see I'm not the only one crazy about these cars!!!
