How to reset Transmission ECU

Reset works on 96 c280
Reset works on a 96 C280 following the process on this thread.
Was experiencing gear 3-4 slipping about 5-10 minutes into a drive.
Playing with the gas pedal seemed to 'help' it shift.
This went on for a few weeks until it eventually stopped shifting and no amount of pedal play helped.
Was looking at about 5k to repair a potential trans issue but decided to try this out before giving in.
Good as new - gear shift works perfectly.
Normally don't comment on these forums but had to do it on this one so that the next guy can know that this can potentially be a fix for weird gear shift issues that dont appear to be mechanical because they only happen after a specific amount of time driving.
hope it helps someone as it did for me.
Big thanks for this tip!!!

Out Of Control!!
The problem with posts like #51 is they offer false hope to those who have mechanical issues with their transmissions like slippage or delayed shifting bla, bla.
The process described in this post DOES NOT reset the transmission.
Remember your 722.6 transmission is adaptive and will eventually move from the factory shift pattern to the pattern or patterns result from your driving habits. The reset as described returns the shift pattern to the factory settings and that is that!! If there is damage it will only be time that it will rear it's head and not overcome any mechanical faults in your transmission.
When you purchase a used MB the first thing you should do is reset the shift pattern and let the transmission learn your driving habits.

Reset worked!!
For those skeptics. I was having sporadic shift patterns from 1-2 and 3-2. I followed the instructions for the reset and my 2011 E350 has awaken!! The reset actually worked, even if it only reset the shift patterns to factory specs. Thanks!!!
