Could someone with a wagon measure for me how long an object can fit in the vehicle when you fold the rear seats, remove the rear bottoms, remove the front passenger headrest, and make it one big long flat area?

I did not. It will be lumber, so not very tall.
As long as you're measuring, also the width of the narrowest point in the trunk (measured at floor level) would be helpful. Can't seem to find that one anywhere either.

The cargo lenght with folded seats and rear bottoms removed is 80+ inches, depends on front seat position.
The width between wheel wells is less than 48" as I could not lay plywood flat.
4 feet wide sheet will fit tilted but with some wiggling
From the floor to ceiling about 30"

On the length measurement, I'm talking about with the front rear headrest removed and the rear bottoms removed, then you lean the front seat backrest as far back as it will go. I believe you can make a long flat area this way.

front seats wont tilt as far back and lay flat as a bed. it will be on an angle.
not sure what the legal ways of hauling things your neck of the woods but im trying to imagine lumber shooting out of your windsreen when you hit the brakes hard.

isnt renting a trailer or an empty van an option? or, lay some cardboard and towel on your roof then tie it up well.

The rear seats w/the electronic "box" is a pain when moving equipment. I wouldn't recommend for transporting. Ask your friend for his truck.

You pull front passenger headrest, fold all seats flat and with small bump you can fit pretty good load of 10 foot long lumber or pipes with hatch closed.
Passengers will have to walk, or seat behind the driver.

I went and looked at one (07 E350) today, but couldn't figure out how to remove the front headrest. No button on the back like the old cars. Does it just yank, or do you have to remove the pass seat backrest cover? Also, To recline the front pass seat are you having to put something in the rear seat latch to defeat the mechanism that won't let you recline the front pass seat when you have the rear seat folded, or do you have some other solution?

Nothing to be scared of. Shoot, even Mercedes themselves used to advertise doing this with the seats specifically to haul lumber in the W123.
