You can do it here, just give your VIN (or PM). If you want to do it yourself, subscribe to EPC and decoded it there.

At the risk of sounding naive, what does it mean to "decode a VIN"? I understand Vehicle Identification Number, but I don't know what it means to "decode" it. What does it tell you?

There are a ton of websites out there that let you do it but I like Analog X's: http://www.analogx.com/CONTENTS/vinview.htm

The VIN of a vehicle is made up of multiple attributes that are related to the vehicle is question. When you decode a VIN you are just basically taking a look at the specifics of the birth of your vehicle. By decoding the VIN you can see which country and plant the vehicle was assembled and in what year along with the serial number of the car and other related information. You can find more information about VIN numbers here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle...ication_number

I thought the person asking wanted to know more than that (for an example this decoder reported "unknown" for the body style part), like all the options, that is the whole data card of the vehicle.

can anyone decode a few VINs for me? I subscribe to EPC, but can't get it to launch, and I don't think I've ever fully understood a datacard anyway. These are all E Classes for sale and some options are listed. I'm mostly interested in whether they have Bluetooth, as other important items are listed:

WDBUF87X17B177624 nav
WDBUF87X27B176577 nav
WDBUF87X37B174692 nav
WDBUF87XX7B176410 keyless go, nav, iPod

Thanks for any help!

Are you a Mac user? If not, you should really fix the EPC issue, should not need much. Perhaps your Java is not up-to-date?

Bluetooth would be standard for NTG2.5 cars while I think all of these were built before NTG2.5 was released. A BT adapter would be an accessory, not an option and not visible from the data card (not installed at the factory).
