What do you call your car?
When you refer to your car by a single name, do you call it a Mercedes or a Benz?
please see Poll. Preferably should call it a Benz, but I still call mine a Mercedes. Mercedes was a marketing concept to sell more cars if named after an Italian auto dealer's little girl. Couldn't use Daimler at the time as rights to it were "sold" to a British car builder along with engines and other Daimler-Benz components. So logically it would be a Benz, since he was one of the two guys who created the make.

Too close to Mercury
Only known one person who called his M-B a Merc and that was an old Army warrant officer who got it when he was in Germany. And he pronounced it the same way Mercury owners called their cars "Mercs."
Actually, just trying to keep the poll simply between Mercedes and Benz as those are the most common references. Good question though.

I usually refer to it with it's letter and displacement, but "Mercedes" would be my answer

'14 E350 wagon; BMW G12 (2020) G01 (2019)
Easy. We have two wagons, a 2009 and a 2014. Its Old Mercedes and New Mercedes.
Before that when we had a 2004 E320, it was called "Big Blackie"
My 08 BMW E61 is called 'Ollie's Car' in honor of our dearly departed Airedale. It was his favorite.
