2014 E63 S AMG
Risk the ticket. Don't drill the bumper!!! I just sold a 2003 M5 that did not have a front plate. I got one $32 ticket in 10 years while I was overtime parked. I think the ticket was written just to make a quota. I just bought your new car in black and I am rolling the dice again.
Best of luck with your new car. It is loads of fun!! I would like to know how close you get to your 1000 mile run in period before you go WOT for a little bit. I had to use lots of self-talk to keep my foot off the floor.

Don't take my word for it, but I think TYPICALLY the only times you'll get a ticket for it is if you are getting a ticket for something else like parking, speeding, etc. They just tack it on, and you can get it reduced to 10 bucks if you provide proof you have it on. I've stuck it in my front windshield before as "proof."

I just had my bumper drilled... Now no anxiety when a cop is nearby... I live in a neighborhood where tickets like that are written all the time
Doesn't bother me

Oh my god thank you for not drilling the bumper on my dream car lol, I like the tow hook plate holder because it's a "temporary" solution. Obviously your car and your decision but now you can go to a car meet or show - if you're into that kind of thing - and take it off ahead of time. Probably best to play it safe, but still way better than drilling and permanently disfiguring your car.
Excellent color choice by the way, there's one cruising around here in Lone Tree, Colorado driven by a soccer mom of the same color. If she only knew what that car is capable of

Congrats on the AMG. More power = better.
IMHO, the E63 S seats are so much better than '12 or '14 E550 seats. It's a nice balance of bolstering and day-to-day comfort around town. Add to that its leather is so much more supple / soft than the "std" E-class.
Want to sit in a "sport" seat that's over the top for the road? Try the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT or Caddy CTS-V. Way too much bolstering.
Boulder, CO is uptight about front plates. No fun there. On the other hand, I haven't been bothered once in UT.

In Canada, it's called the 'Elegance' package - I have yet to see an E Class on the road with this option.

Not the same as before though
Regardless, enjoy your car because it is what you wanted.
Happy Motoring!
BTW, I recently purchased a Nissan Rogue SUV and ruled out one dealership because they drill the front bumper and put their tag on every car as they get it. This in a state that does not require a front tag. Told the salesperson, holes in front bumper = no sale.
