Service A on GL450

Hi,

I recently bought a used 2008 GL450, 22k miles. The Command center on the car says Service A is due in 12k miles. Is this correct? I am new to Mercedes vehicles. Where can I find that maintenance schedules for GL450? Please advise..

Thanks

Your dealer can get you a copy of the maintenance booklet.

You can also find it online here: http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/servic...enance_manuals

Thanks lkchris...

But the maintenance booklet doesn't talk about "Service A". Any idea where I can get the info on "Service A"?

Just a thought, I don't want to offend you, but Mercedes maintenance schedules are different from most cars. Servicing every 12,000-13,000 miles is a normal maintenance schedule. It's not like most cars where you change the oil every 3,000-5,000 miles. As you know, the car will tell you when it's ready, but under normal conditions you'd see a need for maintenance at that interval.

Thank You! So as I understand, can ignore the maintenance booklet and follow the Service Indicator on the Command. Am I right?

If you intend to take your vehicle into a Mercedes dealer for the service I believe that would be fine. You might go in for a Service A and they tell you that your GL also is due for something else but all service is scheduled around these 13,000 mile intervals.

In the maintenance booklet Service A is the one with the least work done, Service B is the one with more dots in the table.
