Aftermarket exhaust muffler on a Bluetec diesel? Brabus Carlsson?

Anyone here installed aftermarket mufflers on their diesel? I'm not looking for any gains just want a little deeper sound a a nice double tip look. Spoke with Brabus and they said that it would change the sound a little but I'm afraid that it won't fit my 2011 GL350 bumper exhaust openings? Any info greatly appreciated. Pictures would be great.

I have the brabus exhaust on a 2010 GL450 - which I assume the exhaust opening on the rear bumper is the same for all the new facelift models from 2010 on?

Wow looks awesome!!! Now that the look and fit in the bumper is out of the way I wonder if it will give the diesel engine a different sound? Wish I could find it used because new ones are like 3000 grand.

If you wanted a cool sound, you should have purchased the 450 or 550. Not sure how you can make a V6 diesel sound too much better?

I'll take a video of the car starting from a stop and post it up here. Not sure what it would sound like on a diesel, but on the 450, its basically a lower rumble but then not noticible at highway speeds.

Exactly ... about all you'll get is a Chevy Malibu sound.

So I got the Brabus mufflers for my diesel and they will be arriving here today. Who did the install on you car and is there any cutting of the original pipes involved? Thank You in advance!!!

Yes you need to cut the oem pipe and the brabus slips on over the existing oem. I got a couple "sleeve" clamps that are different sizes on each end to ensure that the seal is good. You could also get it welded on I guess if you wanted. I did it all myself and didn't take it to a muffler place, but any place could do it for you as its not very hard. Should only take an hour or two.

You also need to take off the oem muffler tips (they attach to the bumper, and not to the exhaust pipe) to give you enough space for the brabus muffler tips to come out the back.
