How are the LED DRLs holding up, StudioAb?
Today I bought a CPO '11 GL350 w/o lighting package, and I ordered these bulbs plus an MTEC HID kit.
Wonder how the DRLs are working for you, any error codes so far? And do you think they are as bright as the halogen DRLs?
Thanks!
My $.02 on these. I ordered them and they were fairly easy to install and the color of the bulbs was terrific. But I ultimately stuck with the original halogens because the halogens, from what I could tell, are brighter. Brightness seems to be a function of the housing and the position of the filament of a halogen bulb inside.
I did do an HID conversion on the low beams (MTEC) and it made a gigantic difference. Best investment I have made in the truck so far.
Also, I put 65w H7 halogens in the high beams and that made a big difference. If I had not done the HID kit, I would have put those in the low beams as well. Bought them here: http://store.candlepower.com/osraulhiouh7.html
I could not remove the bulb easily from the the housing of the DRL. There was a metal plate keeping the bulb in place...didnt want to attempt to force it out. How did you get it out?

Had the same issue. I used a small thin flat-head Phillips screwdriver carefully to pry it out. Mostly for leverage so that I didn't yank it out by hand and break the bulb. Once I did on the passenger side where there is more room, it was far easier on the driver side even though it was tighter space.
Yeah, I did the same thing. Had to carefully pry with screwdriver. Was not how I wanted to do it but couldn't see any other way. Let us know how it goes, and if you are happy with the light output.
