AMG Door Pins - Help!

I recently received my AMG door lock pins. I started to install them and when I screw them on, they screw *way* down. So far that if I were to lock the door, I think they would drop inside the door - not flush with the top. If I screw them in so they are flush, they aren't tight on the screw.

Are other people's lock pins not tight??

I believe you will need some loctite thread locker or similar. We had our GL done by dealer but I had the same experience as you on my C63.

That's what I was guessing, but I wanted to check on other people's experiences first.

Now I just need to figure out what to do on the rear - given that you can't unlock the doors except with the pin.

Yes it's a curious design for sure. We did it anyway. You can unlock with the electric buttons in the front obviously. But it's probably a safety risk since the rear occupant can't unlock it themselves.

Does it not open if you just pull the handle? This is my experience from every other MB, so, is the GL different?

Same here with my ML...I screwed them on only far enough so they sit flush with the door top when locked, but they seem pretty secure as is...don't think they're going anywhere.

As for the rear locks, I just left the plastic ones on...out of sight, out of mind.

The rears, when locked, do not open. You have to raise the pin by hand to open the door.

I find this annoying and a hassle for my passengers. I've learned to hit the open button when driving carpool. I wish it would unlock with a double open like my previous car. I was planning to do the AMG locks until I figured out that the passengers could easily lift the pins.
