Change battery for Remote Key Fob.
Yesterday the dashboard flashed a warning that my key fob battery needs to be changed.
Rather than get it from Mercedes-Benz I drove to a local computer store and bought a CR2025 (3Volt) button battery cell for only $2.00.
Took less than 10 sec to pop out the old battery and pop in the new one and it's good to go.

Well, guess keyless start isn't the culprit. On my '99ML I believe I changed batteries twice during about 10years of ownership.
It did cross my mind that the "replace battery" display was really triggered by elapsed time from when the car was placed into service just as a preventative measure. I don't have a battery tester for those button batteries so I can't say whether or not it the voltage was actually getting low.

I had the same issue......
after only 10-11 months, I had to replace them...........I changed them, then within a month, the icon came on again...."replace key battery"....I had the battery checked, full battery power...Go figure..so I replaced them with a better brand CR2025....so far so good............

Maybe I use the key fob to open the rear tail gate too often thus causing the battery to run low?
In my 335d my key fob's battery is still good after 2 years but there is no auto-trunk opening on the D.
It could be a bad batch of batteries?
The CR2025 is similar to the CR2032 which is used on computer motherboards and these lasts for many years.

So, can the CR2032 work instead of the CR2025 in our remotes?

I'd get the CR2025 as specified. They are just as easy to find and inexpensive if you go to the battery shop or The Source or any computer store.
Cheers
