Wanting to add sub/amp

Are you just try to reinforce the bass in the existing H/K system? If so then you should be able to get power from the battery in the trunk, and use an amp that accepts line level inputs. Get your signal from the speaker cable running to the existing sub.
I have never personally installed a sub in the S class, so if there are any doubts I would consult with a real car audio company

You can drop an amp/sub in these cars in less than an hour.
If you pull out the panel covering on the left hand side, there are a bunch of wires. I don't remember the color code to which one is the sub but you can tap straight into it and add your amp and sub.
I have a JL 500 and a 10w7 in a sealed box in mind. It does add a more bass but not as clean as I would like. For best result you need to pull out the stock sub to allow air through the cabin. I tried to do this but it was a PITA for me since I have rear power seats so I put everything back together.
What I did to regain some of the sub frequency is to run my stock sub along with the JL. I lower my bass level on the HU and adjust my JL amp to match the system. Still not as loud as what a 10w7 should be but I do get a lot more bass compared to all stock and it sounds great too.

I'll get you the schematic with color codes tomorrow. It's on a different computer.
I tested a 12 type r in a slot box but didn't like it. The 10w7 sounds tighter and cleaner.
What sub/amp you planning on using? what kind of box?

I'll probably do a SSA Icon Sub with Sundown Audio Amp or DC Level 3.

Hi
Looking to add my aftermarket sub and amp to the factory H/K system and command, is it possible to tap off the factory amp for the Remote and Line cables for the RCA convertor?
Thanks

******* Nigerians held me captive for two months! Here's how I tapped in for a Infiniti BassLink sub using the 12v receptacle in the trunk (may be 2010+ up feature). On my prior 220's I tapped into the power going to the factory amp but I'm not sure about the color codes. There'll be one heavy gauge wire to the amp that's the 12v power (I think it's brown with a green stripe) and a ground (brown?).
Access to everything is behind the trunk liner on the left side.

Just bridge it. Run a short jumper lead from the REMOTE terminal to the 12V or BATTERY terminal and the amp will power up. The car cuts power to the stock amp on its own so if you're drawing power from there the remote isn't necessary.

I have wanted to add a sub (without adding a separate amp) and have loved using Bazookas (powered) and Infiniti BassLinks for years.
Where did you physically mount the BassLink? Is it in the trunk or under a front seat? If in the trunk, how did you get the bass into the car because the trunk is sealed well (did you remove an existing sub?)
Thanks

I pulled it out after I did the Focal speakers in the doors and all the Hushmat since I was then able to get decent bass out of the three factory subs in the cabin.
