CA is not on the "disallowed" state list. Further, the CVC provides that if the system prevents from the driver from viewing, it is permissible.
27602. (a) A person shall not drive a motor vehicle if a television
receiver, a video monitor, or a television or video screen, or any
other similar means of visually displaying a television broadcast or
video signal that produces entertainment or business applications, is
operating and is located in the motor vehicle at a point forward of
the back of the driver's seat, or is operating and the monitor,
screen, or display is visible to the driver while driving the motor
vehicle.
(b) Subdivision (a) does not apply to the following equipment when
installed in a vehicle:
(1) A vehicle information display.
(2) A global positioning display.
(3) A mapping display.
(4) A visual display used to enhance or supplement the driver's
view forward, behind, or to the sides of a motor vehicle for the
purpose of maneuvering the vehicle.
(5) A television receiver, video monitor, television or video
screen, or any other similar means of visually displaying a
television broadcast or video signal, if that equipment satisfies one
of the following requirements:
(A) The equipment has an interlock device that, when the motor
vehicle is driven, disables the equipment for all uses except as a
visual display as described in paragraphs (1) to (4), inclusive.
(B) The equipment is designed, operated, and configured in a
manner that prevents the driver of the motor vehicle from viewing the
television broadcast or video signal while operating the vehicle in
a safe and reasonable manner.

I'm hearing no on the headphones, not 100% and we may never know that answer. I think you may need the splitview compoments for the headphones, but you could always connect headphones to the aux input in the car. Sending you a pm with more info.

Sweet ride. That rear seat package is going to be so nice for your passengers. In my search that was an option that war rare to find, and when I did there was always something else that was a deal breaker with it like being a NYC car.
fwiw I had the front plate removed from my E. The body shop across the street from my business did me a favor on a cash deal, filled and and sprayed for $250. Looks so much better.
Also noticed that you can tell if the car was built without the front license plate bracket by reading the Data Sheet for anyone still searching.

Road salt and a higher percentage of smokers. There are things that can be done to mitigate the damage of the road salt, but who knows if it was done. Just easier to start with a CA car, imho.

Grrrr..... my car is still sitting at the dealer. The broker I booked the transport with is having trouble locating a truck.
Does anyone know of a transportation company or a good broker?
This is the toughest part....
It's funny, the dealer couldn't wait for me to send the fat check, but now that I've paid them, they can't wait to get the car moved out of their indoor facility. Precious space I guess....

most likely a limo (even if not registered as one), tough life (stop and go all the time), many dings and scratches (usually filled/ resprayed before offering for sale), worn out suspension (nyc is mostly a moonscape)

King of the Road transport out of Margate, FL is a reputable broker. When I wanted to get a car transported from El Paso, TX to FL I used a broker who promised me the world and was quick to take my business but slow with securing a transporter so I did more research and stumbled across King of the Road transport. I read the BBB reviews and checked their ratings and customer reviews. Everything I read was primarily positive feedback so I called King of the Road. I spoke to Mary; everyone recommended you ask for Mary. I told her what happened with the other broker and she told me I could book with her and she will have a truck within 24 hours and if the other company finally called, I could cancel. I booked with King of the Road but never got to use them because the other company called the next morning so I cancelled. From my brief experience and the reviews at that time which was 2013, they seem to be pretty solid. You can Google for info.

Or, I'll personally drive it down to you. As long as you have a driver and I'm sitting in the back with the rear seats reclined

Snovv...Have used 1 Dispatch a few times. Ask what they prices they can offer. They will have drivers submit bids to them. All insured and vetted. Good Luck

Yeah, me and Jason will drive her down. Have it there in a week tops. But I should warn you that those rear seat package cars always smell like hooker perfume and weed when you first get them. And it would be best if we had a credit card for, um, expenses and what not, depending on your personal definition of "rear seat entertainment".

Me too. Another forum member went to look at the car and he rated the interior a 9.5 out of 10. I'm keeping my hopes up....

Almost 100 posts in this forum, almost $65K in car, over $1K in add-ons, another $4K in warranty, $2K for shipping, and hey, no car!!! Fantastic!
I really shouldn't complain. In perspective, there are many who are dealing with MUCH MUCH worse situations than I. All I'm doing is awaiting a silly car and crying about it. At the same time, I know y'all can feel my pain.

Soon I might be desperate enough to take you up on it. "Expenses", "entertainment", "rear entertainment", "mental enhancements for rear entertainment", whatever you want. I'll just try to not shine a black light back there and can always fumigate... I just want my car

Sure, fumigate. But I would strongly advise against law enforcement spraying Luminol back there when you get the car back. Not good for the leather first of all, and who even said a crime had been committed, plus me and Jason have alibis and nobody has even reported anyone missing. much less murdered so I'm not even sure where all this is coming from. We offer to do a guy a favor and now we're being accused of murdering a pot dealer and his hooker girlfriend because they tried to rob us? WTF?
Also no Luminol in the trunk, and BTW that a-hole car dealer sold you a car without a tire iron, and somebody disabled the GPS for around three hours in the area around some deserted woods. Finally, that B&O system is AMAZING. You can't even hear anything coming from the trunk when it's playing.
