S-550 2010 Attention Assist
Attention Assist (AA) system inoperative. AA had been disabled. Enabled AA and started to receive intermittent warning that would go away when car shut down. Later AA inoperative with fault message came on steady after exceeding 9 mph. Under CPO warranty, but dealer unable to correct to date. Dealer changed a sensor, sender unit, contact ring on steering column, ESP Control Module, and now the whole steering column, results unknown but suspect problem still not corrected!
Anyone experience a similar Attention Assist inoperative problem?

Is that the thing where if the car thinks you're driving like a retard it puts a little coffee cup icon on the dash? Mine must be broken too because I see that coffee cup all the time.

Omg the coffee cup idea is a great thought just not implemented as well. You practically would have crashed already by the time it would activate.

Lol, I took a loaner 2015 ML on a 6 hour trip and that coffee thing came on and a beeping sound. I was very tired and almost dozed off. It somehow knew this. I was never that tired before and it never came on in the S. It may work....
Even in the most exciting vehicle, a long journey can bring about driver fatigue. An industry first, ATTENTION ASSIST takes note of over 70 parameters in the first 20 minutes of a drive to get to know your unique driving style. As your journey continues, it can detect certain steering corrections that suggest the onset of drowsiness. It then considers a wide array of other factors, from crosswinds and road smoothness to how often you're interacting with the vehicle's controls and switches. If it all adds up to driver fatigue, ATTENTION ASSIST sounds an alert encouraging you to stop for a rest. Between 50 and 112 mph, the system identifies the erratic steering corrections drivers make as they begin to get drowsy and triggers an audible warning, and a "Time for a Rest?"
The video is pretty cool. The also did a test with 550 male and female drivers on the daimler link. http://www.daimler.com/dccom/0-5-121...0-0-0-0-0.html Also, a very good read here with people in real world sleepy situations and they seem to swear by it: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...on-assist.html
