2013 S550 price question, does this seem fair
Currently looking at a 2013 Certified Diamond White/Black S550 AWD, Sport Package, Pano Roof, P2 package, rear window shades, with 14,400 miles in pristine condition. No haggle price of $58,995. Should I jump on this or is this too high with the 2016 coming out this fall........
Thanks!

With those miles that's like a brand new car. If it's in pristine condition I'd go for it. You are getting a basically new car, last model year and I'd pay extra if it's BRAND NEW condition. Those are hard to find in that combo and 14k miles is brand new.

Yeah that's fair. I paid $58k for my 2010 CPO with 42k miles in 2013. The 221s depreciated a ton when the 222 came out, and you're seeing that reflected in the price of the 2013. Diamond white/black Pano is a great and rare color combo. I'd be all over that car if I was in the market.

60k at this point, umm? Idk, the 2014's are coming down fast and by this time next year you prob could get one of those for 65-70k. Depends on how bad u need this car.
On another note, the w221 does have its visually striking strong points that I still prefer even over the w222, such as the pano roof.
To answer your question though, it's not a bad price at all.

You do not want the w222 cars. They have been largely disastrous reliability wise even by mercedes' standards... Very hard to troubleshoot... The 221 cars by comparison are like Toyotas

My service advisor said the same thing. Don't quote me, but he said something like the w221 has like 40 micropressors running at all times, and the w222 has a hell of a lot more, which = more problems no matter what.

Not to mention that the W221 is a better looking car. The W222 looks too feminine IMO, especially that rear end. They totally did away with the muscular look when they went to the W222. And I'm not a big fan of the Nintendo display screens either.

I couldn't disagree more. My car is more than 9 years old and the interior still looks showroom new with little to no effort. That would be impossible with a light color. Perhaps it doesn't look dull because it's the S600 with everything wrapped in super supple leather. My black leather interior cars have always looked better and richer than my lighter interior cars.

The new C is much worse with it's MB-tex issues.

I love the feel of a lighter colored interior but upkeep is a nightmare. I can't even calculate the hours I spent trying to keep my 220s (one Java and one Stone) clean or being pissed off because it wasn't clean. I replaced interior door panels on both cars when they got too soiled to clean or looked dingy. The 221 was my first black S interior and I think it suits the more masculine nature of the car vs the 220 and the 222. It's also effortless to keep looking brand new.
The Savannah beige color (which replaced Java on the S) looks terrible to me. The darker tone looks like butterscotch and clashes with the lighter tone. The other option, Ash, has a light and dark grey tone but the light is way too light and also looks dirty and worn in a hurry. Black is sort of the winner by default IMO.
Porcelain, a Designo color, has white seats and lower dash/doors and black everywhere else, usually paired with black ash trim and its striking but you don't see a lot of them. I would do a Porcelain S if I found one.
Here's a 600 in Porcelain.

The better the interior leather, the more delicate the surfaces as the base cars have tons of MB-tex (door panels, dash , etc.). The S600 has leather everywhere.
S550 in white with savannah and no sport package = old people cruiser.

Have porcelain/black nappa is the SL and it's beautiful. Also easy to keep clean but jeans can rub off some color. Will definitely get the same color combo again. Also had Java which I found just as easy to keep clean. The biggest issues with light colors are the floor mats really.

To me the darker browns make the burl wood trim look almost red. Don't think I could do that combo personally but it's definitely not the typical black/tan/gray. Maybe if I had the little fridge I could stay drunk enough that I wouldn't care

Don't have a link but car is located in northern , Va. Heading today to a local dealer to test drive and look at identical same car but 2k more on sticker so I'll see if I can haggle so I can buy local. I'll post pics if I'm able to close a deal today.

LOL!, however, my brown interior does not make the burl wood trim look red. The pics may make it seem like that but it really does not when you zoom in on the full pixel version. When one sees it in person it just presents a very solid brown color. So you would not have waste the drinking on just being able to tolerate the color, it looks fine.
