Our W220 was Designo expresso, so the pockets were black, but we had a CL500 and somehow that stayed beautiful the whole time we had it.

Here is a pic. Hard to believe that we got the car 15 years ago (pic is after one year of ownership). Still a beautiful interior to my eye

If I look at our current S-Class, the interior is much more delicate (mats, steering wheel...

You my friend have exquisite taste in cars. That CL interior is heartbreakingly beautiful.

Does the 2013 models come standard with drivers assist package?? I don't see where it does online but saw a thread earlier stating it was a standard option starting in 2011......

Car
They come with Attention Assist standard which tells you to take a break based on the hours you drive and your reactions through the steering wheel.

Driver's Assistance Package which includes Distronic Plus, Lane Departure Assist, and Blind Spot Assist is optional.

That driver's assistance package should be STANDARD. Mercedes is all about safety, but of their top of the line S class, that's something that should not be optional.

Just bought one this afternoon at my local dealer for a tad over 58k fully loaded! I'll post pics soon!

From what I have seen - the car is overly complex and electronics are not fully baked. They have been a nightmare to troubleshoot and very expensive to repair as things are bundled together in high priced modules. I foresee many dirt cheap 222 cars once their warranties are over.

That's a shame. Hopefully they work the bugs out.
