Vibration In Steering Wheel @ 65 mph and during braking
2012 S63 AMG
31,000 miles
I purchased this car in February with 24,000 miles. Got brand new tires on it then, and also put on new front brakes.
The car has always had a minor, but noticeable, vibration in the steering wheel around 60-70 mph. Below 60 it does not vibrate, and above 70 it does not vibrate.
There is also a vibration in the wheel during braking.
I have had the wheels balanced. Alignment done twice. New front brakes. New rear brakes.
Despite all of this, I STILL have the vibration.
What could be causing this?
I have 2 Audis and a Lexus, and none of those cars ever have a vibration like this Mercedes that would have cost more than any 2 of those other cars put together.
Any ideas?

Sounds like warped rotors. I put slotted drilled rotors on my 2012 along with new tires and it is smooth as silk at all speeds.

Actually rotors don't get warped, they get deposits built up on them and then they will require resurfacing.

Try your spare or another wheel in the position where the repaired wheel is currently located. If the car runs smooth with the replacement wheel, then you have isolated the fault.

Rotors do warp if they are heat cycled to fast. When you changed the rotors did the installer clean up the hubs of any rust or debris that could cause the rotor to seat just a bit off.

Most shops do cosmetic repair and never check the run-out after the repair is complete. I had the same issue with my AMG wheels on my S550

I don't think my local Mercedes dealer is up to the task.
I might even have to drive 4 hours to Atlanta to find someone qualified?

You need a shop that specializes in wheel repair. NOT a shop that sells wheels and tires. I did a google search and found three shops like that in your area.

I would be up front with them and tell them a repair was done and a vibration is still present. let them check them right in front of you. And also have them check the front and rear of the rim. if they know what there doing they will find it quick....
