Fuses and locations
It seems that many people have a difficult time locating the fuse boxes and a list of each fuse. This info should be in the tool kit bag with the spare wheel in the trunk, but in case yours is missing, I hope that these pics from mine will be a helpful reference. Pics were taken with my cell camera, so I apologize for any reflections since the the paper is very glossy.

Thanks a bunch, DaveW68! This is very helpful information.
For whatever reason our 2013 S550, purchased used, had two cigarette lighter plungers in the ashtray compartment; neither were in the socket, both were just rolling around loose.
I tried plugging a 12 volt phone charger into the front cigarette lighter socket and nothing. I then tried plugging one of the lighters into my GMC truck. The lighter fit into the socket perfectly but blew the truck’s cigarette lighter fuse. At least the GMC owner’s manual has a fuse chart and the underside of the fuse cover has a schematic.
I popped a new fuse in and the lighter in the truck was back in business.
My theory is the lighter plunger has a fault that is causing the fuse to blow.
Now armed with the detail in your post above I hope to have the same success with our Mercedes.
Thanks again!

The fuse looks fine. Hmmm???
Well, the car is still under factory warranty until 4/17/17. Looks like I have a trip to the dealer in my near future.

My car is a pre-face lift 2007, so fuses and locations may be different than yours. Check in your tool bag with your spare tire and you should have the fuse info in there specific to your car.

Nonetheless, I will look in my tool bag and see if by chance the front lighter fuse is a different number and or location than depicted in your photos.
Thanks!

Your schematic sure looked like it matched up with my car. Fuse #44 was a blue 15 amp in the same under the hood location.

Yup, my lighter wouldn't work because a gum wrapper was in the way.
I wish all life's problems had such a simple and definitive solution.

If so, the fuse box is on the drivers side near the firewall.
If I recall correctly there are 4 allen head screws (I don't think they're Torx heads) holding the cover on the fuse box.
Three are easy to get at, one is slightly obscured but not too bad to reach.
Good luck. hope it solves your dash issue!

Fuses are also located in the Rear SAM behind the rear seat arm rest. You open the armrest and then you need to take a small; blade, flat blade screw driver, or body pry tool and lift up the cover panel of the REAR SAM located in the area behind where the rear arm rest is mounted to (see 115-152 in the pics above). You can access it this way or go through the task of removing the panel in the trunk that is just behind the rear seats - a lot of work and time compared to pooping the cover off of the Rear SAM.
Pics of the location are in this thread :

Great help. Thanks to all who posted and took the time to take all the pictures.
Why can't MB just post this info for all of us? I can get info for my Lexus on line. Why not MB? Seems to me that they want us to take our ride to the stealer, doesn't it?

With the exception of two items, these look the same for my 2008 W221. I've located where the interior driver and passenger panels should be (according to my owners manual). But don't seem to want to come off. Do I need to bribe or threaten them?

There is a tab that a flat head screw driver fits into, this is the prying point. Yo will need to apply a little bit of force.
Hello, you probably figured this out by now, but just incase someone else has the same question I have attached a photo.

Intercooler pump fuse and relay location
Anyone know what fuse 116 "Low temperature pump" is? I have a suspicion that it might be for the intercooler water pump (aka "Charge air"). Tho' if so, why would its location be behind the armrest rather than in the engine compartment?! Doesn't make sense so it's probably NOT for the intercooler pump after all.
I found this same "Fuse Allocation" sheet in my trunk (along with the spare tire) but there is no fuse that remotely resembles "intercooler" or "charge air".
And does anyone have a link to information for the relay assignment? (I'm specifically looking for the intercooler pump fuse and relay for my 2009 CL600.)
Thanks!,
Greg

I think I must be going daft. Every diagram I've seen for the engine bay fuse box shows a plastic box in the same place. Under my bonnet (2007 S320 CDi) I have a silver coloured metal box that looks like a massive heatsink in it's place. Anyone know where my fuses are? I don't have any heating and the weather has just turned frosty so I can't drive unless I hang out the window

Fuse access blocked
The trunk fuse panel is partially blocked by the trunk trim on my E350 Coupe. The access panel is easily removed but half of the fuse panel is still blocked. Help.. the fuse I have to check is still blocked.
