S63 cab with Renntech ECU should I...

Bought a S63 cabriolet and just got it back from the dealership with a stage 2 Renntech ECU ( Plus air filter and spark plugs per the dealers recommendation)
It was fast before but it's an animal now. I put powered by Renntech badge under the V8 Biturbo on both sides of the car but was curious what the opinions were about whether I should change the AMG in the back to the rear Renntech badge. Normally I wouldn't but nowadays they are putting AMG on almost every car so the exclusivity is almost gone. Thoughts?

Here are a couple pics

Not sure how to shrink the pictures as I'm new to the forum so my apologies in advance.

What is the brand and part number of the spark plug did you install? I have the S63 coupe with renntech but have the stock spark plugs. I'm thinking of switching out the spark plug and the air filter

Congrats with your car / tune!

How many BHP / Torque do you have now? Is the speed limiter also removed? (is a relevant question if you live close to Germany :-))

About the logo's: I am more a fan of debadging, so no AMG, S63, etc is shown on my car, but of course each of their own. Don't know if Renntech logo's will affect resale value (how about Warranty?)?

Enjoy!

Factory Mercedes AMG spec plugs. Renntech says on the 63 and 65 motors they recommend doing the plugs with the tune to prevent engine fault codes ( that's what my Mercedes-Benz service guy said anyway). Air filters are BMC.

HP is supposed to be around 669 and TQ about 734. It does remove the limiter.

So for a s63 AMG, rentnech is suggesting stock plugs?
They recommended NGK plugs on my 2014 GL63

Congratulations on your new car and the additional power. It looks great.

I personally like the AMG badge, more for the car's heritage than exclusivity. The fact that there are lots of AMGs doesn't take away from your already exclusive S63. As Hawki said, it's a personal choice, and as long as you're happy it's great.

Enjoy the ride!

Beautiful car. I wouldn't put a Renntech badge on personally as you already seem exclusive enough with what I can only guess to be one of the least common Mercedes' on the road.

Nice car. Must pull hard.

As per the badges... I would debadge the whole car. My preference.

Most factory MB plugs are made by NGK now.

I'd personally remove all badges and just have the Renntech on the back just to be completely different from everyone else. Their emblem does compliment your car's color scheme perfectly

I thought that Renntech and other tuners stopped recommending non-OEM plugs for the M157 after 2015 or so, when AMG last bumped the engine power. Maybe in using a more aggressive tune, AMG starting using different plugs.

On the earlier M157 engines, I believe most suggested using colder plugs along with the ECU tune. I seem to remember reading about a possible issue with knocking and electrodes breaking off, potentially damaging the engine, with the stock plugs back then.

A quick search showed some info in this thread

Sounds like Renntech stopped recommending their own plugs, and rather suggests installing a new set of OEM plugs, at least on 2014+ cars.

I think the OEM plugs are indexed too, so not sure how things might be affected if a new set is installed that is not indexed.

The OEM plugs are absolutely indexed on the DI motors. They are one-time use as they torque to a very specific value, and once installed and removed, if re-installed they will not be indexed properly again and must be replaced.

Pretty sure I have a new set of OEM plugs from a 157 if someone is looking to buy.
