For Sale: 2007 E63
Brand new, flint grey, ventillated seats and all the other options; never raced, broken-in in the most gentle way possible.
First, the good news. The car feels much more responsive, steering inputs are deliberate, brakes seem stronger and I'm willing to bet this car would do great on a road course.
Unfortunately, we were on the drag strip tonight where the car didn't do well. Best run was 13.01 @ 108.84 mph. Launching is super easy with the reduced torque. The best 60' time was 2.03 on the stock Contis.
Overall, it felt weaker down low than the E55 and weaker up top than the
M5. With all that being said, I LOVE the new "Max Cool" button on the AC controls--no more dialing it down one degree at a time.

Are you serious???? Best e.t. of 13.01 @ 108? Sea level? Temp? That is crazy!!!!! That being said, I was being a bit generous when I predicted 12.5 @ 116. I was really thinking about 12.8 @ 113... but 13.1 @ 108 ... ****ty man.
Before you buy another car you need to "borrow" it from the dealer for a night and test it out at the drag strip.

wow, those are some disappointing numbers! lift up your hood and check to see if they accidentally put in a w210 e55 engine. my c32 can run that!!

Out Of Control!!
Should I say it? Yes I will, I told you so. For all the nonbelievers that said the 63 was faster than the 55. We all know Derek is more than capable of driving a car on the track and we see that the E55 is faster.

That is not good news for us E55 owners, considering it was just proven today in an independent, double blind study that the E63 takes the E55 by 3 car lengths just out of the shoot!!

Guys come on.. these times do not make any sense.
A C55 can do 13.2 at 108mph.
That is a car that weighs 3605lbs and has 362hp/376 ftlbs
Thats a weight to power ratio of 9.6 (lbs/ftlb) and 9.96 lbs/hp
The E63 weights 4035 and has 507/465.
This is a weight to power ratio of 8.67 lbs/ftlb and 7.95 lbs/hp.
Now as we all know, acceleration of a car is most closely related to weight and power, not aerodynamics. So the only differences between these cars is that the E63 has a far better weight to power ratio, and a seven speed transmission, larger rear tires (265 vs 245).... there are probably some other advantages but that should be enough...
Yeah, I sure that all adds up to the E63 have the same 1/4 mile as the C55..
Heck, the engineers at AMG have never shown an interest in making fast cars, so they would have no problem replacing the outstanding performing E55 with a car that can be beat by their own 30000$ cheaper C55...

Even the new 300hp/277ftlbs lexus IS350 (which is quoted as doing 0-60 is 5.6 sec) is faster than that:
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=106607
http://dragtimes.com/Lexus-IS350-Timeslip-9805.html
and that car retails for 40,000$.
Also, how does a car that MB claims goes 0-60 in 4.7 seconds (the C55) end up with a 1/4 mile time of 14.2? The Lexus has a 0-60 of 6.1 secs in one of the tests I read and still got to 14.2. And the C55 has more power and similar weight?
