Autocar test C63 v M3
Just some snippets
"There are many other things it does to a level that no other AMG product ever achieved.."
"This car feels far more serious than any previously AMG-fettled C Class; it's wider tracks and completely revised suspension hunker it down to the road surface. And the motor...well, the motor is majestically over-endowed for this application."
"..the C63 is a paradigm shift in direction"
"I can't think of a time when I would state, unequivacally, that a fast C class would have better steering than an M3, but that time has come."
And the winner is ....
Really ... I don't believe it ....
Regards
Andy

the M3!
do you have a link?
The M car is a great piece of engineering and once it has DSG, I will look into it.
For now, the C63 is very practical, classy, sporty and has some "*****" to keep up.

What slightly worries me, living in the UK with our bad roads, is that the M3 has softer suspension than the C63 with the sport suspension and rides better he says.. and this test was in Germany. The problem is the LSD only comes with the sports pack with the harder suspension. Ideally for the UK I think the LSD and 19inch wheels with the softer suspension would be the best all round package.
By the way, he rates the 7 speed auto highly due to the blips on downshifts etc. He used to long term test the old C55 wagon so he has a good base to compare. The tester also has an M3 on order so no bias either way.

C32 AMG - in Pewter
I expect C63 to be better in most categories, based on specs I have seen. Until we see these, the jury is still out... E63 was consistently better than the M5 in the C&D review in the perf. numbers dept, will see how it comes here...

I have not heard of a performance review without any performance numbers, until now. If these guys do their reviews based on subjectives only, then you have to wonder. If they did not publish numbers on purpose, then the outcome is even more suspicious and subjective. I am sure many mags will review, will see...

The M3 won because at 10/10ths it gave the most back to the driver.
Performance figures were not given as it was a back to back in Germany and they do the figures when they are back in the UK at their normal testing location to give consistent results.
