Hello Everyone,


First post here. I just picked up a 2015 C400 and unfortunately is has the piano black center console trim. I would like to change this to the black open pore wood trim. I know there is the whole clock issue thing which I'm trying to avoid. I have recently seen the 2016 GLC and it looks to be the same exact center console but without the clock. I have check the online builder and all of the center console options do not have a clock.


I am wondering if the GLC console is the same exact one and has the same exact fit, where I can just order this one instead and install it on my C400? I have reached out to my dealer but they have no idea. If anyone has any information whether or not this will work, including what the console with ambient lighting part# would be on the GLC, I would appreciate any feedback.

I know there's someone on here with both a GLC and C-Class...don't remember who it was though.

So I went ahead and placed the order today for the black open pore wood center console from a GLC 300 from my local dealer. They said they couldn't guarantee that it will fit my car until they receive it and try to install. If it doesn't fit, I'm stuck with it.


Can anyone confirm that the center consoles on a GLC300 & a C400 are the exact same dimensions and will fit one another?

You might be the Guinea pig on this one. How much was the part?

The part was $615, my local dealer had a 20% off parts special coupon that they applied to it, so it came to $492 + $175 to install. The only other thing is the my car has the ambient light package, I'm assuming the lighting is in the base structure that the console attaches to and not on the underside of the console itself.

It's very straight forward. Just be careful not to break any tabs.
