Inconsistency of 2017 C43 AMG Badging
I'm deeply confused about where Mercedes put their AMG badges on C43s.
Firstly, the instrument panel on the United Kingdom (MBUK) site shows ///AMG on the tachometer but the one on Germany (MBDE) doesn't
Secondly, some YouTube videos featuring C43's engine has no ///AMG badge on top of the red V on the engine cover, but I recently discovered some do.
Please see attachment for further detail.
My C43 starts production in the 3rd decade of September, I want to clarify things before it arrives at my doorstep, no surprises lol
Can any current owners confirm?

I really like the C43, I don't see the value of it as expensive as it is, but owners like OP are not good representatives for the C43 community as he made an account to complain about not having AMG badges.

2017 C43 AMG
here's a guy who is complaining about his car not having enough amg badges, his first and only post. You're right a douchey thing to say, but come on....

On the other hand, it is the inconsistency of badge engineering that bothers me, don't get me wrong as I don't care about how many AMG badges are there, it's just they should make up their mind as to where they put them.

I thought badges don't matter to the new c43 guys
guess they do
the Amg moniker on my engine says the dude that built it, perhaps since Amg didn't build the c43 engin you won't get that moniker?

You guys are bad trolls. OP stated he doesn't care about the AMG badges, rather the inconsistency of them. Different people have different pet peeves. Had they been "43" badges, I'm sure he would have asked the same question. Carry on with your day jobs

You are mistaken, I'm not complaining about Mercedes not having AMG badges on the C43, tbh I never considered the C43 a true AMG because it doesn't have the C63 "one man one engine" philosophy
On the other hand, it is the inconsistency of badge engineering that bothers me, don't get me wrong as I don't care about how many AMGI badges are there, it's just they should make up their mind as to where they put them.

Question for those who went with the C43, I just priced one at 70k with the same options for my order which is 87k. I just don't see the value on keeping the 17k but losing the v8 and other goodies> Hell, the gap would be even smaller with a non-S model. AWD is nice up north, but with the cost of these cars wouldnt it make more sense to buy the 63 or 63S and geta beaer for snowy days?

I live in Canada, I'll have winter tires on my C43 from mid Oct to start of April... You ask why I would purchase a fully loaded C43 compared to a C63, that's why. 6 months of winter driving... If I'm spending 70k on a car, the only way I can justify the expense is to use it year round. (already have a boat I can only use 3 months, don't need another summer toy)
Plus realistically I don't think I need 500hp lol... 360 is already pushing more power then 98% of people need on a daily driver in my books. If the 63 came in AWD it might be a closer toss up but I might still land on the 43, but at least it would be a toss up... as of right now, C63 doesn't even make the thought process.

I originally ordered a fully loaded C300, basically ticking every single box there is, with an MSRP around 63k, my salesman then advised me to switch over to a C43 with the same options, only at 67k. Adding the switchable performance exhaust gave me a grand total of 68k.

It really depends on what you're looking for. To me, a V8 is too much for a daily driver *cough MPG cough cough* as I drive 80 miles every day to my university. And yet I can't justify myself buying a 4 cylinder Mercedes. So a V6 would be perfect for me, tbh C400 would be enough for me, but MBUSA discontinued it so

just start driving south and stop a few hours before mixuco, problem solved

But isn't an amg something more than a practical car. It is the fit, flash, and the above and beyond that makes an amg. Not the practicality in the snow or for commuting or the lower horsepower. Everyone that is saying why they are getting the c43 over the c63 are making justifications for why they are settling in my opinion.

Two very DIFFERENT cars to suit very DIFFERENT tastes. You need to see them side by side.
Both fine cars in my opinion.

The discussion wasn't about AMG, it was why choose the C43 over C63. I could care less if it's an AMG. I'm saving money and getting a car I can drive more often... And isn't that what we all like to do... Drive the car?!? So I wouldn't call it settling. I'd call it maximizing my use! But to each their own
But yes 2 different cars, for 2 different applications.

I can't do the winter beater bc I live in a condo downtown and my parking garage only allocates me one space (might be able to get a second but it'd be another $100 a month).
All in all, the 63 just wasn't worth it for me.

only thing I can say, is that MB made the worst decision when they started to consider the C43, GLE43 etc... as "AMG"
brand dilution... pathetic!
