Console repair?
I bought my 05 sl600 and it had just a few things that weren't 100% right, one of which was the console. One of the little pieces that grabs the top doesn't work. I can open to the upper portion where my bt dongle is but it won't pick up the bottom piece to open to the lower cooled portion of the box. I have seen a few people selling consoles on ebay but I am hoping I can get away with just a new latch piece. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it. I am trying everything in my power to not have to spend 450 for a new console lid.

Assuming this is not a warranty fix: Have an MB dealer parts guy step outside and look at your console problem and identify the right part to fix it.
If there's no broken part, then it likely requires some type of latch/lid adjustment.
I doubt that a changeout of the entire console would be required, but keep your fingers crossed on this one.

Nemesis,
Well, I just looked at the SL parts list from another thread in this forum, and it seems I may have been overly optimistic in my suggestion for you since the little console parts, like latches, don't appear as individual part items.
You should still give it a try with the dealer parts guy first, and ask them about any old/discarded console parts...you never know what they can find for you.

I have this exact same issue in my 55. I went to 2 stealers and 3 independents. They all said the whole console needs to be replaced because MB doesn't sell just the latching mechanism.

I was thinking about finding a good condition lid and getting a friend to cnc some replacement latches, but idk if that is feasible or if it is something that would be needed.

Well I ordered a whole console off of ebay, got it for 140 shipped, even includes the rear piece that goes between the storage bins. I am planning to take apart at least mine to see if there is some way I could have my local cnc guy make some, but I'm not 100% sure at this point. My other idea was to take a piece of the plastic filler panels and maybe cut one from that.

Bringing this back from the dead....after the last couple complete units were all imitation leather, I finally have a lid that matches and I haven't been able to find any instructions aside from comand and wood trim.
